Lakers fall again

Marcus Morris scored 22 points and the Clippers dominated the shorthande­d Lakers in a 104-86 victory Sunday to end a two-game skid.

Kawhi Leonard had 19 points, 10 rebounds and eight assists, and Paul George added 16 points for the Clippers.

The Lakers trailed the entire game in which they were without injured All-Star duo LeBron James and Anthony Davis, as well as Andre Drummond and Wesley Matthews.

They’ve dropped six of nine.

Montrezl Harrell led the Lakers with 19 points against his old team.

Marc Gasol was the only other Lakers starter in double figures with 11 points.

„ 76ers C Joel Embiid sat out against the Grizzlies in order to recover one night after returning to the lineup following a 10-game absence because of a bone bruise in his left knee. Embiid had 24 points and eight rebounds in Saturday’s 122-113 win over the Timberwolv­es.

NHL: Alex Ovechkin moved into a second-place tie on the all-time list for NHL power-play goals and the Capitals beat the host Devils 5-4, completing a sweep of their eight-game season series. Ovechkin’s second-period goal was his 265th with the extra man, tying him with Brett Hull for second place and leaving him nine behind all-time league leader Dave Andreychuk (274). The 35-year-old Russian, who also picked up two assists, has 19 goals this season and 725 in his career.

Soccer: Valencia stopped playing its Spanish league game at Cádiz and walked off the field after one of its players said he was racially insulted by an opponent. The club said it resumed the game more than 20 minutes later because its felt threatened by the referee with the loss of points. Valencia lost 2-1.

Tennis: Hubert Hurkacz beat 19-year-old Jannik Sinner of Italy 7-6 (4), 6-4 to win the Miami Open. The 24-year-old Hurkacz, 24, became Poland’s first Masters 1000 champion.
