A friend has a landline phone with FiOS Digital Voice service. I recently helped her configure it to work with Nomorobo, a free third-party service. Nomorobo maintains a blacklist of over 2.5 million robocaller­s. Robocalls ring your phone just once.

Nomorobo is supported on 50 VoIP landline carriers, including AT&T U-Verse, Atlantic Broadband, BroadVoice, Comcast XFINITY, Cox, Ooma Premier, RCN, Spectrum, Verizon FiOS Digital Voice, and Vonage. Nomorobo pledges not to block robocalls about school closings, medical appointmen­t reminders, etc. My friend gives Nomorobo five stars! similar problems, which has been apparent for months.

We were charged a late fee by the water company, even though we mailed payment well in advance of the due date.

Under current conditions, the mail is not being received or handled at the destinatio­n in a timely fashion. But, customers get charged late fees. Late fees impact credit scores!

If COVID is the reason for the current problem, then all credit card and other service companies should be urged to waive late fees to their customers.

There is a problem when costly Priority Packages do not get to their destinatio­n in specified posted time. Do they get refunded? I doubt it!

Yes, COVID 19 has caused lots of upheaval in normal routines, but taxpayers should not be punished or fined for something that is out of their control!
