Cantlay keeps 2-shot lead in hunt for Cup

Top seed Patrick Cantlay shot an opening-round 3-under 67 on Thursday at the Tour Championsh­ip in Atlanta to maintain his two-stroke advantage in the FedEx Cup title hunt.

Cantlay, who won last week’s BMW Championsh­ip outside of Baltimore, stood at 13 under.

No. 4 seed Jon Rahm, winner of the U.S. Open, shot a 65 to move into second in the Cup hunt at East Lake .

NBA: Former All-Star F Paul Millsap agreed to a deal with the Nets, ESPN reported. Terms weren’t yet available. Millsap, 36, averaged just 9.0 points and 4.7 rebounds in 56 games last season for the Nuggets.

NFL: Former LB Keith McCants was found dead at his home in Florida after a suspected drug overdose, investigat­ors said. He was 53. McCants was the No. 4 overall pick in the 1990 draft by the Buccaneers. The Mobile, Alabama, native earned All-America honors as a college player at Alabama. McCants played for three seasons for the Bucs, followed by stints with the Oilers and Cardinals before his football career ended in 1995. McCants was arrested several times for possession of drugs and drug parapherna­lia over the years.
