Adele’s new album due in November

-

On Wednesday, Adele finally revealed the release date of her long-anticipated fourth studio album, “30,” out Nov. 19.

In a lengthy statement, the singer-songwriter reflected on the process of making the record, which will explore “the most turbulent period” of her life, including her recent divorce.

“I was certainly nowhere near where I’d hoped to be when I first started (this album) nearly 3 years ago,” she wrote on Instagram. “Quite the opposite actually. I rely on routine and consistency to feel safe … And yet there I was knowingly — willingly even, throwing myself into a maze of absolute mess and inner turmoil!”

The Grammy winner’s big announcement comes a week after she first teased her forthcoming single, “Easy on Me” (out Friday), and just days after her first Instagram Live session.

“I’m ready to finally put this album out,” Adele continued in her statement. “... I’ve painstakingly rebuilt my house and my heart … and this album narrates it.”

Smash Mouth’s Harwell retires:

Smash Mouth singer Steve Harwell announced his retirement following the uproar over a concert performance one attendee described as “the most chaotic show I’ve ever seen in my entire life.” Representatives for Smash Mouth said Tuesday that Harwell, 54, has left the band to focus on what they described as long-standing medical issues.

Video of the concert in upstate New York showed Harwell slurring words, threatening audience members and giving what appeared to be a Nazi salute to the crowd.

A spokesperson for the group said Harwell “has suffered profusely over the years with several types of addiction leading to medical and mental health issues,” including cardiomyopathy and Wernickes encephalopathy, a condition that “has greatly impacted his motor functions including speech and impaired memory.”

Regarding the apparent Nazi salute, they said that the singer “regrets his actions, but this TikTok video is not an accurate representation of the man Steve is.”

Flay asked for $100M in contract:

After it was reported that Bobby Flay and Food Network would be parting ways after the two sides couldn’t come to an agreement, a source close to the negotiations revealed that the celebrity chef wanted $100 million in a new contract.

If Flay’s demands were met to continue his 27-year run with the network, he would have made $20 million more than his counterpart, Guy Fieri.

“Guy has a three-year deal,” the source said to People magazine. “The terms of what Bobby was looking for were gravely different than just cash. The terms were longer, the scope of work was different and thus the dollars were different.”
