Carol Reinhold

Carol Reinhold, 89, of Arnold Maryland passed away peacefully at home February 8, 2023. Carol was born on April 2, 1933, in Englewood, New Jersey to Frederick and Martha Schaaff. She was the youngest of 4 children and grew up in Teaneck, NJ.

On a trip to the Jersey Shore, she met her future husband and love of her life, Ted Reinhold.

They married in 1956 and had 4 sons. While in NJ, Carol joined the River Vale Volunteer Ambulance Corp, becoming one of the first female ambulance drivers in River Vale.

Carol and the family moved to Maryland in 1972 where the allure of sailing on the Chesapeake Bay became a lifelong passion for the family. Always a good sport, Carol became the able first mate, ship’s gourmet chef and allaround leader of the crew.

There was nothing more important to Carol than being together with her family and in particular her grandchildren. She took pride in all their accomplishments and enjoyed being an integral part of their lives.

Carol is survived by Ted, her husband of 67 years; her sons Herb (Peggy), Bruce (Jen), John (Marcia) and Steve (Anne); and her sister June Schaaff. She is also survived by her grandchildren Ted (Amanda), Stephanie (Daniel), McKenzie (Kellen), Abby, Will, Johnny (Laura), Tyler (Mel), Nick and Nate. Carol was preceded in death by her parents, brother Fred and his wife Mickey, sister Ann and grandson Tommy, a sweet angel.
