Eagles coordinato­rs get head coaching jobs

Two days after the Eagles lost to the Chiefs 38-35 in the Super Bowl, their offensive and defensive coordinato­rs were hired as head coaches.

The Colts hired offensive coordinato­r Shane Steichen and the Cardinals hired defensive coordinato­r Jonathan Gannon.

Steichen, 37, becomes the Colts’ fourth coach since 2017.

Most recently, Frank Reich was fired in October after 4 ½ seasons leading the Colts. Interim coach Jeff Saturday was one of the finalists for the permanent position.

The 40-year-old Gannon replaces Kliff Kingsbury, who was fired last month after going 4-13 in his fourth season. Gannon becomes the Cardinals’ fourth coach in seven years.

He was 25. Emergency services tried to revive Espeel with a defibrilla­tor, but he was pronounced dead shortly after he was taken to a hospital.
