Edward Ray McWhorter, 59 Trion, Ga.

Edward Eddie Ray McWhorter, of Trion passed away Monday, June 27, 2016. He was 59.

He was preceded in death by his brother, Willard McWhorter.

Survivors include: His fiancé, Vickie Darnell; daughters, Renee McWhorter, Ashley Umana and Nicole Whitcomb; son, Brian McWhorter; sister, Cyclida Youngblood; 11 grandchild­ren; one great-grandchild and several nieces and nephews.

Visitation: Saturday, July 2, from 2-3:30 p.m. at the funeral home.

Jake Sauceman, 73 LaFayette

Jake Sauceman, of Rome, Ga., formerly of LaFayette, Ga., passed away Thursday, June 30, 2016. He was 73.

Jake was an avid golfer and loved Alabama Crimson Tide football.

He was preceded in death by his father, J.C. Sauceman.

Survivors include: His wife, Lisa Sauceman of Rome; his mother, Mary Sauceman of LaFayette; daughter, April (Greg) Garner of Cartersvil­le, Ga.; son, Jeff Sauceman of Chattanoog­a, Tenn.; sister, Louann Pilcher of Thomasvill­e, Ga.; brother, Mike (Lana) Sauceman of LaFayette; grandchild­ren, Will Garner, Kate Garner and Sarah Garner and nieces, Machielle (Joey) Downs and Carrie (Jarrell) Hale.

Johnny Rayford Suits Sr., 69 Trenton, Ga.

Johnny Rayford Suits Sr., of Trenton, Ga., passed away Saturday, July 2, 2016. He was 69.

He was a veteran of the United States Navy and retired from the textile industry.

He was preceded in death by his parents, William Paul Suits and Lillie Bell Walker Suits; sisters, Helen Suits, Patsy Suits and Bonnie Tucker; brothers, J.R. Suits and Fred Suits; father-in-law, Richard A. Stewart and sister-in-law, Betty Huskey Suits.

Survivors include: His loving wife of 49 years, Chris Suits of Trenton; son, Johnny Suits Jr. of Trenton; sister, Joyce (Billy) Payton of Trion; grandson, Maverick Suits of LaFayette; mother-in-law, Sara Stewart; brothers-in-law and sistersin-law, Thomas Tucker, Betty Ann Suits, Clay (Laurie) Stewart, Cathy Cureton, Craig (Carol) Stewart and Carey (Susie) Stewart and several nieces and nephews.

Visitation: Tuesday, July 5, from 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home.

Funeral service: Wednesday, July 6, at 11:30 a.m. at Wilbanks Memorial Chapel with pastor David Hale officiatin­g.

Rebecca Marie Schrader, 80 Ringgold

Rebecca Marie Schrader, of Ringgold, died Saturday, July 2, 2016, at her residence. She was 80.

Born in Virginia, Marie was a resident of Ringgold and member of Boynton United Methodist Church for over 40 years. She was a career homemaker who devoted countless hours to her church and community. She served as a substitute teacher, a mentor for at-risk children, and a longtime Sunday School teacher for the Koinonia Class at Boynton United Methodist Church. Her cooking was so well known that her carrot cake with cream cheese frosting started bidding wars at church bake sales.

Marie is preceded in death by Paul “Pipe” Schrader Sr., a Navy war veteran and her devoted husband of 56 years; her parents, Edgar and Mabel Conrad and four brothers and sisters.

Survivor include: One sister and five siblings-in-law; four sons, Paul Jr. (Melissa), Greg (Amy), Alan and Ron; 12 grandchild­ren; and four great-grandchild­ren.

Visitation: Friday, July 8, from 6-8 p.m. Friday at Boynton United Methodist Church and an hour before the service.

A Celebratio­n of Life service: Saturday, July 9, at 11 a.m. at Boynton United Methodist Church, with Rev. Randy Walworth officiatin­g.

Burial: Chattanoog­a National Cemetery, Monday, July 11, at 10 a.m.

Honorary pallbearer­s: Koinonia Class of Boynton UMC.

Donald Lee Thomas, 67 Rossville

Donald Lee Thomas, of Rossville, Ga., passed away Monday, July 4, 2016, in a local hospital. He was 67.

He worked with his brother at the Thomas Shoe Repair in Rossville and he was a U. S. Army veteran of the Vietnam War. He was of the Baptist faith.

He was preceded in death by his parents,

Survivors include: His son, Joe S. Thomas; daughter, Kim Haddock; companion, Janet Divergiles; sister, Thelma Bledsoe; brother, Charles Thomas; several grandchild­ren; nieces, nephews and extended family.

Graveside services: Tuesday, July12, at 2:30 p.m. at the Chattanoog­a National Cemetery with military honors.

Bonnie Jean Hickman, of Ringgold, Ga., passed away Sunday, July 3, 2016. She was 39.

She lived in Ringgold for the past 26 years and was of the Baptist faith. Bonnie was a loving daughter and sister, who will be greatly missed.

Survivors include: Her loving parents, Brad L. Sr. and Evelyn Hickman and brothers, Bradley Hickman Jr. and Benard L. Hickman.

Betty Jo Wilbanks, of Rossville, Ga., passed away Sunday, July 3, 2016. She was 77.

She was a lifelong resident of the Chattanoog­a area and attended Ringgold Church of God. She was a devoted employee to the Old South Restaurant where she faithfully worked for 15 years.

Mrs. Wilbanks is preceded in death by her husband, Raymond Kenneth Wilbanks; son, Raymond Kenneth Wilbanks Jr.; parents, William and Maude Steele; sister, Mary Doss and brothers, Paul, Ernest and Oddest Steele.

Survivors include: Her daughter, Sherry Mull of Rossville; sister, Ann Lowe of Ringgold; granddaugh­ters, Tiffany and Kristine Mull; great-grandchild­ren, Nivyia and Myah Jackson and Jerry Paul Bowman II and nieces and nephews.

William (Bill) Steve Cardwell, of Atlanta, Ga., died surrounded by his family Monday, July 4, 2016.

Bill was a voracious reader, a lover of all things southern and most things old. As a father, he was inspired and infinite in his patience, wisdom and love.

Survivors include: His wife, Susan Cardwell; his three sons; Stuart, Taylor and Wesley; his brother, Lee Cardwell; his father Gordon Cardwell and a myriad of other loving family and friends.
