Local production companty to host casting calls for upcoming Disney productions

Closed Door Entertainment is hosting a casting call for Disney’s “Beauty and the Beast” and “The Last Five Years” Monday-Tuesday, July 25-26, from 6:30-8:30 p.m. at the UTC Fine Arts Building, inside the band room, 752 Vine Street, in Chattanooga. Enter from Oak Street and follow the signs to the band room. The building is at the corner of Oak and Palmetto Streets.

Performances for Beauty and the Beast are Oct. 7-15. Last Five Years performances are Nov. 11-19.

Auditions for Disney’s “Alice in Wonderland Jr.” will be Monday-Tuesday, Aug. 1-2, from 6-8 p.m. Location will be announced at a later time. Performances are Sept. 23-Aug. 1.

Parts are for performers of all ages for Beauty and the Beast, and two adult performers with strong vocal ability for The Last Five Years.

Alice in Wonderland Jr. will be performed by the CDE Kids division, and will be comprised of performers ages 7-14.

Please come prepared to sing 32 bars of a song of your choice, preferably with a Disney-esque feel (for Beauty and the Beast) or a modern, jazzy feel (for Last Five Years).

For Alice, come prepared to sing up to either 30 seconds or 16 bars of a song of your choice. You will also need up to one minute of a monologue of your choosing.

A piano accompanist will be available so please bring sheet music with your cuts already marked. No CD or Mp3 track accompaniment will be accepted. Auditioners with sheet music for the accompaniment have a far better chance of being cast than a’capella auditioners.
