United Way asks nonprofit organizati­ons to consider submitting a project proposal

for the United Way Volunteer Center’s 27th annual Day of Caring. On Thursday,

Sept. 8, hundreds of volunteers from local businesses and communitie­s will partner with United Way’s Volunteer Center and other area nonprofit organizati­ons to serve local neighborho­ods through work on community-based projects. The center needs help to find unique volunteer projects where willing volunteers can serve and make the most impact in one day. Nonprofit (501c3) organizati­ons are invited to submit a project need to United Way’s Volunteer Center. More than one project proposal may be submitted (and may be accepted) but each request must be submitted separately. She uses puppets, props and audience participat­ion to make her stories fun and entertaini­ng for all ages. As a former first grade teacher, she knows how to connect with children in a way that helps them understand the story instead of just listening.
