Roy “Bo” Allen Harris, 68 Tunnel Hill

Roy “Bo” Allen Harris, of Tunnel Hill, Ga., passed away Saturday, Oct. 1, 2016. He was 68.

A native of Lebanon, Tenn., he lived in the Catoosa County area for most of his life.

Bo was a veteran of the U.S. Army and was selfemploy­ed for over 40 years as owner of Bo’s Hobby Shop, where he processed deer.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Roy Lee and Alma Mae Ingle Harris; two sisters, Ruby Katherine Stapp and Frieda England and brother, Lee Harris.

Survivors include: His wife of 46 years, Linda Hendrix Harris of Tunnel Hill; daughter, Tracy (Chris) Kellett of Tunnel Hill; sister, Pat Peters of Rome, Ga.; two brothers, James (Gloria) Harris of Ringgold and Bill (Leoma) Harris of Smithsvill­e, Tenn.; three grandchild­ren, Wesley Davis, Katelynn Kellett and Jazmyn Kellett; three greatgrand­children and several nieces and nephews.

Visitation: Tuesday, Oct. 4, from 11 a.m.8 p.m. at the funeral home.

Rosie Beatrice Brown Landers, 95 Ringgold

Rosie Beatrice Brown Landers, of Ringgold, Ga., passed away Friday, Sept. 30, 2016, at her residence. She was 95.

Mrs. Landers was a devoted mother, grandmothe­r and prayer warrior and longtime member of Pine Grove Baptist Church.

She loved her family, reading her Bible and going to yard sales.

Rosie was preceded in death by her husband, Louis Landers Sr.; parents, Jessie and Alma Brown; sons, Sonny, Jerry and Larry Landers; and brothers, J.T. and Virgil Brown.

Survivors include: Her sons, Bobby (Brenda) Landers and Roger (Linda) Landers; daughter, Patricia (Vince) Hope; daughters-in-law, Joyce and Patrice Landers; sister, Reanice Bell; 14 grandchild­ren, 21 greatgrand­children, 21 greatgreat-grandchild­ren and several nieces and nephews.

The family would like to thank Life Choice Hospice of LaFayette for their excellent care. Also, a special thanks to Katie, Stephanie and Jacqualine. Mother loved you all.

Anderson “Gene” Hass, 67 Chattanoog­a

Anderson “Gene” Hass, formerly of Chattanoog­a, Tenn., passed away Thursday, Sept. 29, 2016, in Ft. Payne, Ala. He was 67.

Mr. Hass was employed the past four years with the DeKalb County Sheriff’s Department in Ft. Payne, Ala., following his retirement from the Chattanoog­a Police Department with 30 years of service.

Gene enjoyed blacksmith­ing, restoring classic cars, riding his motorcycle and coaching little league baseball and football.

He was of the Christian faith and was preceded in death by his wife, Linda Gail Hass; parents, Jonas and Oneda Hass; sister, Claudia “Paulette” Nichols and nephews, Charles Nathaniel Raines and Gary Wayne Nichols.

Survivors include: His three children, Anderson Gene (Laura) Hass Jr., Della (David) Robinson and Timothy James Hass; brothers, Raymond, Charles (Judy) and Jerry Hass; sisters, Linda (Kenneth) Cooley and Rhonda (Robert) Smith and several nieces and nephews.

Daulton Penland, of Ringgold, Ga., died Saturday, Oct. 1, 2016. He was 20.

He was a graduate of Heritage High School and was employed as an apprentice electricia­n by IBEW Local #175.

Agnes “Granny” Bryson, 87 Ringgold

Agnes “Granny” Bryson, of Ringgold, Ga., went home to be with the Lord Monday, Oct. 3, 2016. She was 87.

She was a lifelong resident of Ringgold and was a member of the Baptist faith.

Agnes loved gardening, working outside and cooking for her family on Sundays after church. She will be greatly missed by all who love her.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Roy and Fannie Chapman; sisters, Dessie Pierce and Annis Bryson and brother, Jake Chapman.

Survivors include: Her son, David “Rick” (Judy) Bryson of Ringgold; sister, Gladys Holsomback of Ringgold; grandchild­ren, Kristy (Jim) Loneske of Lowell, Mich.; Kellie (Keith) James of Varnell and Kimberly Bryson of Ringgold; greatgrand­children, Noah and Savannah Loneske, Nora and Ava James and several nieces and nephews.

Mary Ellen Hammontree, 71 LaFayette

Mary Ellen Hammontree, of Dalton, Ga., formerly of LaFayette, Ga., passed away Thursday, Oct. 6, 2016. She was 71.

She was a lifelong member of Shiloh Baptist Church.

Mary was a graduate of LaFayette High School and attended Georgia Northweste­rn Technical College.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Hayes and Mary Lou Hammontree; brother, Don Hammontree and sister, Reva Hammontree Rex.

Survivors include: Her brothers, Rex (Mary Nell) Hammontree of Rocky Face; Billy Joe Hammontree of Dalton, Henry Hammontree of Gainesvill­e, Ga., and several nieces and nephews.

Stacy Elaine Carter Moreno-Haro, of LaFayette, Ga., passed away Tuesday, Oct. 4, 2016. She was 44.

She was born in Chattanoog­a, Tenn., to the late Charles Erwin Carter and Joyce Ann Leonard Carter. She resided most of her life in the LaFayette and Trion areas.

She worked at Krystal and Bealls in LaFayette.

She enjoyed watching Netflix, making jewelry and spending time with her children.

She attended Cowboy Church in LaFayette.

Along with her parents she is preceded in death by her sister, Lori Robin Carter Everette.

Survivors include: Her children, Joshua Carlos Lucio, Hannah Alexis Lucio, Robin Gabrielle Lucio, Angelina Joy Chal Lucio and Francisco Andres Moreno-Haro; grandson, Lucas Isiah Lucio; sister, Joy Lyn (Tony) Hammons of Hopewell, Miss.; aunt and second mother to her, LaDell Carter of LaFayette; several aunts, uncles and cousins.

Robert A. “Bobby” Meroney, retired Chickamaug­a Police Chief of Chickamaug­a, Ga., died Tuesday, Oct. 4, 2016. He was 71.

Murel Preston Barton, 85 Chattanoog­a

Murel Preston Barton, of Chattanoog­a, Tenn., went to be with the Lord peacefully Sunday, Oct. 2, 2016, after battling Alzheimer’s. He was 85.

A native of Ringgold, Ga., he lived in Chattanoog­a and worked for DuPont for 37 years.

He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and a member of Westview Baptist Church. He will truly be missed by all who knew him.

He is preceded in death by his parents, James and Tinnie Barton; brothers, Charles Barton and Barney Barton; stepson, Sidney Ware and a sister, Florine Caine, who passed away later the same day in Kansas City, Mo.

Survivors include: His spouse, Lillian Barton; daughter, Angela (Mark) Seanor; son, Darryl (Brenda) Barton; stepdaught­er, Carla Ware; grandchild­ren, Natalie (Michael) Lea, Aimee (Chris) Banta, Tracy (Scott) Wilson; greatgrand­children, Avery Wilson, John David Lea, Rylee Banta, Eli Wilson, Ethan Lea, Cooper Banta and Lydia Wilson; sister, Margie Smith and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was a member of First Baptist Church of LaFayette.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence “Brick” Mason; her parents, Claude and Plina Bryant Hall and three sisters.

Michael Wayne Cordell, of LaFayette, Ga., passed away Thursday, Oct. 6, 2016. He was 54.

He was a lifelong resident of LaFayette and was of the Baptist faith. Michael enjoyed driving and working on old cars and spending time with his family.

He was a loving husband, son, father, grandfathe­r and brother who will be greatly missed.

John Paul Burke Jr., 79 Ringgold

John Paul Burke Jr., of Ringgold, Ga., went home to be with his Lord and Savior Wednesday, Sept. 28, 2016. He was 79.

He was a lifelong resident of the Chattanoog­a and North Georgia areas and was of the Christian faith. He was an Air Force veteran and worked in the carpet mill industry for more than 40 years.

He was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfathe­r and great-grandfathe­r that will be truly missed by all who knew him.

He was preceded in death by his parents, John Paul and Mary Nell Burke Sr.; son, Jeffrey Thomas Burke and two brothers, Lloyd Burke and Hugh Burke and grandson, Mason Kennett.
