See “Robin Hood” at Tiger Creek Elementary
Ringgold Civil War author to speak in Dalton
Ringgold Center for the Arts invites the community to its production of “Robin Hood” at Tiger Creek Elementary School, 134 Rhea McClanahan Drive, in Tunnel Hill, Ga. Performances will run Friday-Sunday, Nov. 11-13.
This rendition, an old English folk lore adapted into a screenplay by Tim Kelly, has all the classic story lines of what one expects from Robin Hood, with a few twists. From Sherwood Forest to Nottingham, Robin shows his heroism with his merry band. Some new characters will be introduced who are funny, villainous and amazing to watch.
The group is under the direction of Rachel Bruner.
“Each one of these cast members work hard to develop their character,” she said. “I am always amazed at how well it comes together.”
Doris Pina, the center’s character development specialist, helps each cast member understand who their character is and how he or she feels, thinks and responds to other characters in the play.
The center brings its productions alive with creative sets, as well as stunning costume designs by Shannon Hashman.
Performance times are Friday and Saturday, 7 p.m., and Sunday, 2 p.m.
Admission is $5. Ticket sales will help cover the expenses of the play and save for a future building for the center, a local non-profit organization.
