James Harold Pitner Jr., 86 Chattanoog­a

James Harold Pitner Jr., of Chattanoog­a, Tenn., went home to be with his Lord and Savior Friday, Nov. 11, 2016. He was 86.

He was born and raised in Chattanoog­a to the late James and Ozella Pitner Sr. and was a member of Northside Presbyteri­an Church.

He was an Air Force veteran serving his country in the Korean Conflict and retired from Copy Consultant as accounting controller in 1995.

He was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfathe­r and great-grandfathe­r that will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

He was also preceded in death by his wife, Christina Mae Pitner; son, James H. Pitner III and one grandson, Floyd H.D. Pitner.

Survivors include: His children and spouses, Julia Mae Pitner of Clarksvill­e, Tenn., John (Kathi) Pitner of Fairview, Ga., and Jennifer and Phil Middleton of Hixson, Tenn.; sister, Joan Ozella Lee of Chattanoog­a; eight grandchild­ren; seven great-grandchild­ren and numerous nieces, nephews and extended family and friends.

Visitation: Monday, Nov. 14, after 3 p.m. at Wilson Funeral Home and Tuesday following the service in the centennial room at the church.

Graveside service: Tuesday, Nov. 15, at 11 a.m. in the Hamilton Memorial Gardens with a memorial service to follow at 1 p.m. at Northside Presbyteri­an Church with Paul Rader officiatin­g.

Burial: Hamilton Memorial Gardens.

Rev. W.L. Galloway, 84 Ringgold

Rev. W.L. “Dub” Galloway, of Ringgold, Ga., went home to be with his Lord and Savior Saturday, Nov. 12, 2016. He was 84.

He was born in Alabama to the late Thomas and Nora Lindsey Galloway, but lived most of his life in the North Georgia area.

He was pastor of Old Fort Baptist Church for the last 25 years and devoted his life to his family and the church. He was always putting others’ needs before his own and was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfathe­r and great-grandfathe­r that will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

He was also preceded in death by his brother, Harold Galloway.

Survivors include: His loving wife of more than 65 years, Jo Alice Galloway of Ringgold, Ga.; sons, David (Kim) Galloway and Dan (Kathy) Galloway all of Rock Spring, Ga.; sisters, Bobbie (John) Compton of Kensington, Ga. and Rhonda (Gary) Jenkins of Ringgold, Ga.; five grandchild­ren, Christy Galloway, Chris Galloway, Allison Keith, Travis Galloway and Erica Galloway; greatgrand­children, Tristen Young, Chloé Keith and Justin Galloway; numerous nieces, nephews and extended family and friends.

Visitation: Monday, Nov. 14, after 4 p.m. at the funeral home and the body will lie-in-state on Tuesday from 11:30 a.m. until the time of service at the church.

Funeral service: Tuesday, Nov. 15, at 1:30 p.m. in the Old Fort Baptist Church with Bro. Dwight Milligan and Bro. Larry Underwood officiatin­g.

Burial: LaFayette Memory Gardens.

Nadine Carlock Pursley, 87 Ringgold

Nadine Carlock Pursley, of Ringgold, Ga., passed away Tuesday, Nov. 15, 2016. She was 87.

She was born to the late Thomas E. and Gladys Hullender Carlock in Flint, Mich., has been a long time resident of Ringgold and was a member of Boynton Baptist Church.

Nadine retired in 1993 from the Stone Man after 16 years as bookkeeper.

She was a loving mother, grandmothe­r, sister and aunt, who will be greatly missed.

She was also preceded in death by her loving husband, Merle S. Pursley; brother, Don Carlock and grandson, Matthew Sertel.

Survivors include: Her loving children, Ernie E. (Denie) Pursley of Ringgold, Carol Merle (Jim) Hodges of Rock Spring and Thomas E. (Caroline) Pursley of Dacula, Ga.; sister, Betty Shirley of Ringgold; grandchild­ren, Ann Marie Peace, David Pursley, Sandy Pursley, Lindsay Hodges Forgey, Christina Pursley and Stephen Pursley; nine great-grandchild­ren; one great-greatgrand­child and several nieces and nephews.

Visitation: Thursday, Nov. 17, from 4-7 p.m. at the funeral home and from 11 a.m. until the service time at the church on Friday.

Funeral service: Friday, Nov. 18, at noon at Boynton Baptist Church, with Keith McLeod and Pastor Jimmy Hutto officiatin­g.

Burial: Daily Hills Cemetery.

Charlie Edward Wade, 67 Dalton

Charlie Edward Wade, of Dalton, Ga., departed this life Monday, Nov. 14, 2016, at Parkridge East, Eastridge, Tenn., surrounded by his loving family. He was 67.

Charlie was born Nov. 11, 1949, in Dalton, a son to the late Charlie Manuel Wade. He is also preceded by a son, Andy Wade.

Charlie loved to fish and read.

Survivors include: His mother, Dorothy Caldwell of Ringgold; sons, Bruce (Michelle) Wade of Dalton and Michael Wade of Chatsworth, Ga.; six grandchild­ren, Jennifer and Brian Latour, Brittany Wade, Amber and Danny Contreras, Cody and Tasha Wade, Megan Lamb and David Wade; a new greatgrand­son, Allister Neil Wade; sister, Beverly Simpson of Chatsworth and nieces and nephews.

Visitation: Friday, Nov. 18, from 5 p.m. until the service hour.
