Joe Lee Frost, 90, Rossville

Joe Lee Frost, 90, of Rossville, passed away Saturday, February 11, 2017.

He was a lifelong resident of the Chattanoog­a area and was of the Christian faith.

He proudly served his country, in the U.S. Army, during WWII.

He was preceded in death by his wife Myrtle Frost; parents, John and Edna Frost; daughter, Wanda Burns; son, Robert Frost, Sr.

Survivors include his daughter, Betty Butler; grandchild­ren, Kandy Frost, Robert Frost, Jr., Bobbie Brewer, Joyce Walling, Eddie, Bill, Mitchell, Betty, James and Johnny Burns; numerous great and great-great grandchild­ren; several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, February 17, 2017, in the Fort Oglethorpe Chapel with Rev. Terry Turner officiatin­g.

The family will receive friends from 3:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. Wednesday and all day Thursday until 8 p.m.

Burial will follow in Chattanoog­a Memorial Park.

Polly Glendora Legg, 80, Chattanoog­a, Tenn.

Polly Glendora Legg, 80, of Chattanoog­a, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, February 15, 2017.

She was a loving mother and grandmothe­r that truly loved all her family.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Earl Legg; granddaugh­ter, Cynthia Lynn; several sisters and brothers.

She is survived by her daughter, Sherry (John) Hollingswo­rth; son; LaBron (Mary Ann) Samples; grandchild­ren, Tiffany and John Hollingswo­rth, Shontel Geren, Stephanie Samples, Joel Clark; eight great grandchild­ren; several nieces and nephews; her beloved dog, Lily.

Funeral service will be held on Sunday, Feb. 19th at 1:00 P.M. in the funeral home chapel. Burial will be in Lakewood Memory Gardens South.

The family will receive friends on Friday from 4-8 PM, Saturday from 10 AM- 8 PM and Sunday until the hour of service.

SSgt. William David Lewis Sr., 77, Chickamaug­a

SSgt. William David Lewis Sr., age 77 of Chickamaug­a, passed away on Friday, February 17, 2017.

He was a lifelong resident of the Chattanoog­a Area and was of the Baptist Faith.

He served his country in the United States Marine Corps during the Vietnam War. David was a loving husband, father, grandfathe­r and uncle, who will be greatly missed.

David was preceded in death by his parents, John David Lewis and Susie Lee Maxwell and son, John Willis Lewis.

He is survived by his loving wife, of 29 yrs., Virginia Lewis; daughter, Faith Lewis; son, William David Lewis, Jr.; step children, Maj. Christophe­r Firestone, Chris Stoker, Karen Carr and Angela Stoker; 10 grandchild­ren; 6 great grandchild­ren; and several nieces & nephews.

The funeral service will be held at 12:30 pm on Tuesday, February 21, 2017 in the funeral home chapel, with Bro. Ronnie Millican & Bro. Joe Lee officiatin­g.

Interment will follow in The Chattanoog­a National Cemetery, with Military Honors.

The family will receive friends from 3:00 pm to 9:00 pm on Sunday, all day on Monday and prior to the service on Tuesday.
