Lady Generals boot Rome for first win of season

Anna Boley had a hat trick and Brianna Smotherman found the net once as the Heritage Lady Generals got in the win column for the first time this season, 4-1, Thursday night at home against Rome.

Heritage (1-1) will host Gilmer in the Region 6-AAAA opener on Tuesday at 5:30 p.m. That match will be followed by the varsity boys’ game.

Coahulla Creek girls 3, LFO 0

The start of the Region 6-AAA schedule didn’t go the way of the Lady Warriors on Thursday as they were shut out at home by the Lady Colts. Rachel Larsen, Selina Vazquez and Lynne Wright all had goals for Coahulla Creek (2-0, 1-0). LFO fell to 0-2 overall and 0-1 in region play with the loss.

Israel Giliza scored a goal for the Warriors (0-2, 0-1), but it wasn’t enough to counter the hat trick scored by Coahulla Creek’s Christian Lewis. Sebastian Garcia also found the net twice for the Colts (1-01, 1-0).
