Mr. Colin Chavez Shrop­shire, age 26, of LaFayette, Ga., passed away Sun­day, Mar. 5, 2017.

He was a for­mer em­ployee of Mt. Ver­non Mill and at­tended LaFayette High School where he was on the bas­ket­ball team.

He was pre­ceded in death by his great­grand­par­ents, Johnny and An­nie All­good and Ge­orge and Kather­ine Shrop­shire.

Sur­vivors in­clude: his par­ents, fa­ther, Adrian (Amanda) Shrop­shire of Chicka­mauga, Ga., mother, Stephanie Ear­lene Cham­bers of LaFayette, Ga.; one sis­ter, Shelby Shrop­shire Ar­den of Chicka­mauga; two brothers, Tyler Shrop­shire and Dil­lon Shrop­shire of LaFayette; pa­ter­nal grand­par­ents, Johnetta (Odell) McSears; grand­par­ents, Ver­non Shrop­shire; ma­ter­nal grand­par­ents, Gwen Cham­bers of LaFayette, Earl (Angie) Cham­bers of Cal­houn; aunts, un­cles, cousins, other rel­a­tives and friends.

Jeanette Al­mand Baker

Jeanette Al­mand Baker passed away March 3, 2017.

She was born in New­ton County Ge­or­gia and lived in LaFayette Ge­or­gia for the past sev­enty-two years.

She re­ceived de­grees in Ed­u­ca­tion from Ge­or­gia State Col­lege for Women and the Univer­sity of Ge­or­gia.

She was a long­time mem­ber of LaFayette First United Methodist Church and the LaFayette Women’s Club.

Mrs. Baker en­joyed read­ing, trav­el­ing, and spend­ing time with her fam­ily and friends. She vol­un­teered at nurs­ing homes and vis­ited those in need for many years. Her kind, lov­ing spirit and pos­i­tive out­look bright­ened the days of all who knew her!

Mrs. Baker was pre­ceded in death by her hus­band, Dr. Paul W. Baker Jr., and son Lewis Jef­frey Baker.

She is sur­vived by her chil­dren, Jana Baker McCann and hus­band John, Paul Wash­ing­ton Baker III and wife Ca­role, and Su­san Baker Coker and hus­band Dale; seven grand­chil­dren, War­ren Rhodes Hall Jr. and wife Mace, Christo­pher Baker Hall and wife Sharena, Lee Martin Hall, Paul Wash­ing­ton Baker IV, Court­ney Suzanne Baker, Laura Coker Greene and hus­band Brent, and Scott Jef­frey Coker and wife Janna; great­grand­chil­dren, Rhodes Huck­abee Hall, Ran­dall Ge­or­gia Hall, Adams Baker Hall, Ramey Kate Hall, War­ren Baker Hall, Wil­liam Tay­lor Baker, Robert Ben­jamin Baker, James David Baker, Guner Con­way Hen­der­son, Eli Davis Greene, and Aubrey Lane Greene; lov­ing care­givers, Troy Cor­nett, Rosie Hag­wood, and Cas­san­dra Sam­p­ley; spe­cial fam­ily friend Edith Hart­line.

The fam­ily is thank­ful for the very car­ing staff of Amedisys Hospice, es­pe­cially Cer­ti­fied Nurs­ing As­sis­tant Tina and Nurse Mindi.

She en­joyed liv­ing re­tired on her farm with her birds and an­i­mals.

Linda Green Hixon, 66, Ring­gold

Linda Green Hixon, 66 of Ring­gold, went home to be with the Lord on Fri­day, March 3, 2017 sur­rounded by her lov­ing fam­ily.

Linda was born March 31, 1950 to the late Wil­liam Bill Green and Martha Lou Land Green. She was a life-long res­i­dent of Ring­gold and a mem­ber of Ca­toosa Bap­tist Taber­na­cle af­ter be­ing a mem­ber of Wel­come Hill Bap­tist Church for most of

her life. Linda was a life-long singer hav­ing sung in the church choir and var­i­ous groups through­out the years. She par­tic­u­larly en­joyed sing­ing with her sis­ters and other fam­ily mem­bers. Linda was very ac­tive in var­i­ous church roles, in­clud­ing teach­ing Sun­day School and work­ing in Va­ca­tion Bi­ble Schools.

She is pre­ceded in death by her si­b­lings, Eve­lyn James, Ron­nie Green and Ralph Green.

Sur­vivors in­clude her lov­ing hus­band of 27 years, James La­mar Hixon; chil­dren, Dr. Mickey Par­sons, At­lanta, Tera Roberts, Ring­gold, Ja­son Hixon, Ac­worth, and An­thony Hixon, Gainesville, GA; brother, Doug Green, Tun­nel Hill; sis­ters, Joyce Bryson, Betty Rivers, Judy Babb and Jewel Sil­vey, all of Ring­gold;
