Man from out of state arrested in Catoosa County on sodomy charges

- By Adam Cook

A man is behind bars in Catoosa County facing sodomy charges after a Rossville woman claimed he sexually abused two young boys around Christmas time, police say.

According to the Catoosa County Sheriff’s Department:

Kyle Anthony Neugebauer, 19, of Lincoln, Neb., was arrested Wednesday, March 15, on two counts of aggravated sodomy. He is currently being held without bond.

Investigators say the alleged sexual abuse occurred in late December 2016 and involved two boys, both under 10 years of age.

Neugebauer left the area shortly thereafter and moved to Nebraska to live with a relative, reports show.

According to Capt. Chris Lyons, the sheriff’s office was made aware of the allegations after the children told their mother about the incidents in late January.

Forensic interviews were conducted with the children in February, and investigators took warrants on Neugebauer on Feb. 28.

Lyons says since Neugebauer was living in Nebraska at the time, arrangements had to be made to get him back to Catoosa County.

“Police in Nebraska actually made the arrest for us, and then he was transported back here,” Lyons said.
