John Marvin Cobb, 65, Fort Oglethorpe

John Marvin Cobb, of Fort Oglethorpe, Ga., passed away Sunday, March 26, 2017. He was 65.

He was a lifelong resident of the Chattanoog­a and North Georgia area.

He had a passion for working on cars and was involved with Drag Racing at Brainerd Optimist Drag Strip for many years. He was an original member of the GCDA-Greater Chattanoog­a Darting Associatio­n and retired from Lookout Pest Control in 2014 after more than 16 years of service as a Technician.

He was a man who was always putting others needs before his own and taking care of his family was at the top of his list.

He was preceded in death by his father, Jack Cobb and mother, Anna Callaway.

Survivors include: his loving wife of more than 44 years, Linda Rock Cobb; daughter, Tiffany Cobb both of Fort Oglethorpe, Ga.; brother, Donald Eugene Cobb of Smyrna, Tenn.; two sisters, Janie Cesario of Signal Mtn and Judy Powell of Acworth, Ga. and two grandchild­ren, John Kelly and Gabriel Kelly.

Visitation: Friday, March 31, after 4 p.m. at the Fort Oglethorpe Chapel of Wilson Funeral Homes.

Funeral service and burial will be private.

Bessie Kitchens “Aunt Bea” Madden Jackson, 86, LaFayette

Mrs. Bessie Kitchens “Aunt Bea” Madden Jackson, of LaFayette, Ga., passed away Saturday, March 25, 2017. She was 86.

She was a member of Mount Zion Baptist Church and was preceded in death by her husband, George Washington Jackson; son, Orlando G. Jackson; daughter, Owida R Jackson; parents, Horace and Dora Madden; sisters, Irene Stamper, Nannie L. Dallas, Senora Stalling, Odessa Madden and Lou Preyar and brother, William H. “Bill” Madden.

Survivors include: her daughter, Rosalind R. Mosley; grandchild­ren, Thomas Chansy Mosley of LaFayette, Ga., Tessa N. (Marcus) Watson of Calif., KanDis L. Perry, Kelsy R. S. Mosley of LaFayette; sister, Elizabeth Cannon of Cleveland, Ohio; brother, George Thomas Madden of LaFayette; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.

Her remains will lie in state at the funeral home on Friday after 11:00 A.M and at the church on Saturday from 11:00 A.M. until the funeral hour.

Homegoing celebratio­n: Saturday, April 1, at 1 p.m. at Mt. Zion Baptist Church, Dunwoody Road, LaFayette, Ga. with Pastor Rheubin M. Taylor Sr. and other ministers officiatin­g.

Allen Linton Lively Sr., 78, LaFayette

Allen Linton Lively, Sr., of LaFayette, Ga., passed away Friday, March 24, 2017, surrounded by his loving family. He was 78.

He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and of the Pentecosta­l faith.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Charlotte Ann Lively; parents, Leonard Lively and Lucille Lively; brother, Charles Lively.

Survivors include: daughter, Anissa Collins of Chickamaug­a; sons, Al (Jan) Lively, Ben (Angelia) Lively, Roy (Carrie) Lively and James (Crystal) Lively all of LaFayette; sisters, Leahmon Ponder, Bitsy Long and Judy Lively all of LaFayette; ten grandchild­ren; 7 great- grandchild­ren and several nieces and nephews.

Sarah E. Smith, of LaFayette, Ga., passed away Monday, March 27, 2017. She was 77.

Survivors include: daughters, Dawna Kay Smith and Kimberley Wilson; sisters, Billie Jo Williams, Sandra Kay Abney and Patty Woodard; brother, Paul Helms; grandchild­ren, Jamie, Rickya, Joey, Dusty, Dannie and Timmy; eleven greatgrand­children; several nieces and nephews.

Mary Frances Dobson, 89, LaFayette

Mrs. Mary Frances Dobson, of LaFayette, Ga., went to be with the Lord Tuesday, March 28, 2017. She was 89.

She was a member of the Second Baptist Church of LaFayette.

She was a loving mother, grandmothe­r and sister who will be greatly missed.

She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Johnnie Dobson; parents, Fred and Agnes Murdock; brother, R.F. Murdock and sister, Joyce Howard.

Survivors include: daughter, Sue ( Ronald) Underwood; son, Terry (Jane) Dobson; sister, Lois (George) Turnipseed; sister-inlaw, Sammie Dobson, all of LaFayette; grandchild­ren, Gerald (Melanie) Underwood, Scott (Lou Rea) Underwood, Holly (Boyd) Greene, Julie (Joe) Psaila; greatgrand­children, Lance, Clayton, Ansley, Bergen and Traven Underwood and Trent, Colin and Audrey Psaila; several nieces and nephews. A special childhood and lifelong friend, Hazel Pilgrim; special friend and caregiver, Mary Miller.

Funeral service: from the Wilbanks Memorial Chapel Saturday, April 1, at 2 p.m. with Pastor Mike Peterson, Pastor Ricky Studdard and Rev. George Turnipseed.

Harold “Pete” Williams Coffman, Sr., of Trion, Ga., passed away Wednesday, March 29, 2017. He was 73.

He was born on July 23, 1943, in Perry Ga.

Survivors include: his loving wife of 54 years, Beverly Sue Coffman; son, Harold (Angie) Coffman Jr.; grandsons, Toby Coffman, Joseph Coffman and Bo Coffman, all of Trion; sister, Betty Coffman of Atlanta; brother, Ivy Coffman of Dallas, Ga.; several nieces and nephews.

Ruth Ellen Wilhoite, 59, Chattanoog­a, Tenn.

Ruth Ellen Wilhoite, of Chattanoog­a, Tenn., went home to be with her Lord and Savior Saturday, March 18, 2017. She was 59.

She was a lifelong resident of the Chattanoog­a area and was of the Christian faith.

She loved the Tennessee Vols, playing cards and going to the park with her grandchild­ren. She was a devoted sister, mother and grandmothe­r who will be truly missed by all who knew her.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Donald and Henrietta McCurry.

Survivors include: her children, Jonathan Wilhoite, Katie McCary and Fiancé, Eric Smith all of Soddy Daisy, Tenn.; two brothers, Paul McCurry and Daryl McCurry both of Chattanoog­a, Tenn.; sister, Sheila Heyde of Rossville, Ga.; two grandchild­ren, Courtney Wilhoite and Aiden Smith; several nieces, nephews and extended family and friends.

Visitation: Saturday, April 1, after 3 p.m. at the Fort Oglethorpe Chapel of Wilson Funeral Homes with a Gathering to take place in the Funeral Home Parlor at 8 p.m. that night to celebrate Ms. Wilhoite’s life.

Burial will be private.

Charles Rickey Leonard, 63, Rossville

Charles Rickey Leonard, of Rossville, Ga., departed this life Tuesday, March 28, 2017, into the arms of Jesus. He was 63.

He was also greeted with open arms by his parents, Elton and Rema Leonard and brothers, Billy and David Leonard.

Rickey lived in the North Georgia area for most of his life and was of the Baptist faith.

He loved antique cars, had a passion for music, enjoyed playing his guitar and singing. He loved his family and friends and will be truly missed by all who knew him.

Survivors include: his son, Charles Eric Leonard of Texas; brother, Elton Raymond Leonard Jr. of Hixson, Tenn.; sisters, Betty Proctor of Rossville, Ga. and Judy and Ron McGill of Hixson, Tenn.; nephew, Blake Leonard and special nephew, Gable Proctor and two nieces, Scarlett Weller and Brooke Leonard.

There will be no visitation at the funeral home.

Graveside service: Friday, March 31, at 2 p.m./1 p.m. CST in the Ebenezer Cemetery in Bryant, Ala. with Minister Sam Whited officiatin­g.
