A Chattanooga, Tenn., man wanted for the vehicular homicide of his young daughter was arrested in Ringgold after he was allegedly again driving erratically on a Catoosa County Road.

According to the Catoosa County Sheriff’s Department:

Jack Fielding Milhollin, 21, of Hickory Valley Road, was arrested April 20 on charges of first-degree homicide by vehicle, aggravated assault, aggressive driving, following too closely, driving on the wrong side of the road, failure to maintain lane, two seatbelt violations, open container, DUI, child endangerment by driving DUI, and too fast for conditions.

Milhollin was released from Catoosa County jail on a $36,000 bond April 22, two days after his arrest.

In November 2016, a then20-year-old Milhollin was involved in a crash on Stewart Road between Catoosa Springs and Varnell, which ultimately claimed the life of his 2-year-old daughter.

According to Georgia State Patrol Post 5 in Dalton, the wreck occurred when Milhollin was in his Ford Ranger truck chasing another vehicle. Milhollin lost control of the truck and crashed through a fence before the truck wound up rolling through a nearby field.

The child’s mother was in the vehicle Milhollin was pursuing, reports show.

Milhollin’s daughter died from injuries sustained during the crash before paramedics arrived at the scene. Neither Milhollin nor his daughter were wearing seatbelts when the crash occurred.

Milhollin was flown by Life Force to Erlanger hospital in Chattanooga for medical treatment.

It’s unclear at this time how long Milhollin was in the hospital following the crash, or why he wasn’t immediately taken into custody when he was medically cleared to leave.

A little more than five months later, on Thursday morning, April 20, Catoosa County deputies received a call of a man speeding up and down Keith Road just after midnight.

Upon arrival, deputies found a gray Honda abandoned at the intersection of Keith and KeithSalem roads.

A witness said Milhollin jumped out of the vehicle and ran into the woods.

Milhollin was eventually found in the backyard of a residence at 3157 Keith Road, at which time he was arrested on the warrants from the crash that killed his daughter.
