Summer camps for kids in Catoosa County
Catoosa County Parks and Recreation has partnered with Fusion Factory Sports Academy to make two months’ worth of summer camps available to local families looking for enrichment opportunities for their children while school is out.
“This is something really different,” says Academy manager Victoria Phillips. “We’re offering a program of sports, academics and the arts, including soccer, baseball, wrestling, no-contact football, conditioning, arts and crafts, theater arts, intro Spanish and reading and creative writing.”
Phillips says every day will be a mix of sports and other things, and alternative sports will be offered for children who don’t care for the focus-sport of the day or week.
Full day and half day camps are available beginning May 29 and ending August 9. Full day camps run from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. and half day camps from 8 a.m. to noon. All camps are for children ages 5 (entering kindergarten) up to 12 years old. Children attending full day camps will need to bring their own lunch.
Camps will take place at three locations, depending on which is most suitable for the type of camp: Graysville Gym, Poplar Springs Park, and Jack
