Elvis Randolph Dobson, 75, LaFayette

Elvis Randolph Dobson, of LaFayette, Ga., passed away on Saturday, June 3, 2017. He was 75.

He was born to the late Ruby Dobson in Nashville, Tenn. and had been a resident of LaFayette for the past 30 yrs.

He was a member of the LaFayette Church of Christ and served his country in the U.S. Air Force during the Vietnam War and was a member of the American Legion Post in Chickamaug­a. Randolph was a graduate of MTSU and retired from Central Soya in 1997. He was a proud UT Vols fan. Randolph was a loving husband, father, grandfathe­r and brother, who will be greatly missed.

He was also preceded in death by his brother, Bridges Dobson.

Randolph is survived by his loving wife, of 45 yrs., Carol McRae Dobson; daughter, Wendy Dowda of LaFayette; brother, Stanley Dobson; grandchild­ren, Lucas and Cash Dowda and several nieces and nephews.

Visitation: The family will receive friends from 9:00 a.m. until the service on Thursday.

Funeral service: will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, June 8, in the funeral home chapel, with Dr. Teddy Scoggins and Min. David Paden, Jr. officiatin­g.

Kathy Sue Harris, of Rossville, Ga., passed away on Monday, June 5, 2017. She was 63.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph Harris; parents, William Lee and Edna Lee Burgess.

Survivors include: her daughter, Jamie Whitt of Rossville, Ga.; son, Jason (Jessica) Whitt of Murfreesbo­ro, Tenn.; sister, Cynthia Whitt of Bakewell, Tenn.; brother, Robyn Lee of Naples, Fla.; grandchild­ren, Brandon Gaddis, Nathan, Jesse and Chasity Gage; greatgrand­child, Kali Ladd.

Inurnment will be in Tennessee Georgia Memorial Park.

Donald Lee Hartman, 83, Chickamaug­a

Donald Lee Hartman, of Chickamaug­a, Ga., went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Monday, June 5, 2017. He was 83.

He was a lifelong resident of the North Georgia area and was of the Baptist faith.

He was an Army Veteran having served during the Korean Conflict and was previously employed with Container Corporatio­n of America.

He loved camping, fishing, playing Rook and just being with family and friends. He was an avid Georgia Bulldog fan and loved the Atlanta Braves. He was a loving and devoted husband, father and grandfathe­r who will be truly missed by all who knew him.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Caney and Zillie Hartman; wife, Marie Hartman; two brothers, Billy Hartman and Johnny Hartman and two sisters, Helen Harris and Catherine Marable.

Survivors include: his children and spouses, Chuck and Marcia Hartman of Red Bank, Tenn., Michael “Boomer” and Mary Hartman of Chickamaug­a, Ga., Diane and Craig Morgan of Fort Oglethorpe, Ga., Annette and Tommy Beard of Chickamaug­a, Ga., Lee and Vickie Hartman of Flintstone, Ga. and Lorie Ann and Brandon Duke of Flintstone, Ga.; brother and sister-inlaw, Darrell and Naomi Hartman of Ringgold, Ga.; 13 grandchild­ren, Wendy Hartman, Michelle Westbrook, Jenna Stevens, Lindsey Wilson, Hannah Partain, Abby Morgan, Meleigha Hartman, Kelsey Hartman, Alex Greene, Christian Duke, Bryson Duke, Ashton Duke and Travis Williams; 15 greatgrand­children; 3 greatgreat-grandchild­ren and numerous nieces, nephews and extended family and friends.

Mark Womble, 54, LaFayette

Mr. Mark Womble, LaFayette, Ga., passed away on Tuesday, June 6, 2017, at Georgia Regional Hospital in Decatur, Ga. He was 54.

He was preceded in death by his father, Robert Womble, Jr.; stepfather, Marsh Wheeler; grandparen­ts, Rev. Robert and Julia Womble, Sr., Love Davis and Clara Stamper and brother, Ronald Scott Wheeler.

Gertrude Stone Dabbs, 89, Lookout Mountain, Ga.

Gertrude Stone Dabbs, of Lookout Mountain, Ga., went home to be with her Lord on Wednesday, June 7, 2017, at her home. She was 89.

She was born on November 10, 1927, to the late James Franklin and Thelma Voiles Stone and spent her entire life in the West Brow Community of Lookout Mountain.

Gertrude was a lifelong member of the West Brow Holiness Church and was known for her great culinary skills, especially her coconut cake. She was a true friend and prayer warrior to everyone.

Mrs. Dabbs was preceded in death by her husband of seventy years, Reburn Dabbs; grandson, Sylvester Dabbs; granddaugh­ters, Judy Gioconne’ and Jackie Burson and brother, James R. “Buck” Stone.

Survivors include: her sons and daughtersi­n-law, Junior and Orateen Dabbs, Lumpkin, Ga., Gary and Teresa Dabbs, Lookout Mountain, Ga.; daughter and son-in-law, Penny and Jim Johnson, Chattanoog­a, Tenn.; sister, Ruth “Suby” Clark; brother, Marvin Stone, both of Lookout Mountain, Ga.; six grandchild­ren; several great and great-great grandchild­ren; several nieces and nephews and a host of cousins and friends.

Visitation: The family will receive friends Thursday from 5-8 p.m. and Friday from 2-8 p.m. at the South Crest Chapel.

Funeral services: will be held Saturday at 12:30 p.m. in the South Crest Chapel with Brother Mark Finlayson officiatin­g.

Mr. Earl B. Payne, of Rossville, Ga., entered into the gates of Heaven on June 8, 2017, to be with his Lord and Savior whom he loved and served during his life. He was 74.

Mr. Payne was a member of Temple Baptist Church.

He was formerly a photograph­er and surgical technician. After attending Kirkman Technical High School he proudly served his country in the United States Army.

The family would like to send a special Thank You to the staff of Hospice of Chattanoog­a for all their help and support.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Earl and Adele Lankford Payne and a brother, Mitchell Payne.

Survivors include: his loving wife, Norma Jean Lively Payne; daughters, Tanya Picklesime­r, Debbie (Mark) Kuehne and Donna (Martin) Keen; stepchildr­en, Tracey (Lebron) Morrow, Terri Camp and Larry (Heather) Camp; 13 grandchild­ren and 5 beautiful greatgrand­children; brothers; Robert and Rudy Payne; aunt, Mary Ross; uncle, C R Lankford; several nieces, nephews and cousins also survive.

Stephen Lloyd Winn, 66, Tunnel Hill

Stephen Lloyd Winn, of Tunnel Hill, Ga., passed away Tuesday, June 6, 2017. He was 66.

He was a lifelong resident of the Chattanoog­a and North Georgia areas and was of the Baptist faith.

Mr. Winn was an Army Veteran and was the Owner and Operator of 5 Star Lawn Service for many years.

Stephen loved fishing, being outside landscapin­g and going to Antique Car Shows.

He was a loving and devoted husband, father and grandfathe­r who will be truly missed by all who knew him.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Kenneth and Doris Winn and his wife, Joyce Winn.

Survivors include: his wife, Vivian Harden Winn of Tunnel Hill, Ga.; children and spouses, Jeff and Crystal Winn of Cleveland, Tenn., Stephanie and Tim Clark of Sale Creek, Tenn. and Ashley Winn of Chattanoog­a, Tenn.; four step-children, Frankie Rommel of Missouri, Pamela Gravitt of Sugar Valley, Ga., Cynthia Spearman of Varnell, Ga. and Wesley Wooten of Tunnel Hill, Ga.; two brothers and sisterin-law, Jerry and Peggy Winn of Hixson, Tenn. and Ricky Winn of North Georgia; grandson, Trevor Winn; numerous stepgrandc­hildren, stepgreat-grandchild­ren and one step-great-great grandchild.

Dorothy Jean Quinn, 86, Menlo

Dorothy Jean Quinn, of Menlo, Ga., passed away peacefully at her home Saturday, June 3, 2017. She was 86.

She was born in LaFayette on Aug. 12, 1930, to the late Archie Reed and Ethel Ware Reed.

Prior to her retirement, Dorothy owned and operated Karen’s Dress Shop in LaFayette.

Along with her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, James Quinn.

Survivors include: daughters, Karen (Tony) Duke of Menlo, Janet Quinn of LaFayette and Sally Quinn of Menlo; grandchild­ren, Eric (Mandy) Quinn, Holly (Joe) Burrage, Courtney (Bill Kirk) Duke and Val Quinn; greatgrand­children, Torin Quinn, Keira Quinn, Gabe Burrage, Ashlyn Burrage, Seth Kirk and Haley Kirk and several nieces and nephews.

Raymond Leon Railey, 90, LaFayette

Raymond Leon Railey, of LaFayette, Ga., passed away peacefully at his home Friday, June 2, 2017. He was 90.

He was born March 2, 1927, in Knoxville, Tenn., to the late Silus P. Railey and Nellie Richardson Railey.

He was one of Jehovah’s Witnesses and a veteran of the U.S. Army.

Survivors include: his loving wife of 66 years, Lola Mae Aters Railey of LaFayette; sons, Greg (Debbie) Railey of LaFayette, Johann (Renate) Lopez of Pottsching, Austria; grandchild­ren, Melissa Railey, Wendy Railey, Martin Lopez, Jessica Lopez and Andy Lopez; great-grandchild, Jace Linam; sister, Ruth McBryar of Dallas, Ga. and several nieces and nephews.

Visitation: at the funeral home Monday from 1 p.m. until time of service.

Betty Annette Medley, 70, Rossville

Betty Annette Medley, of Rossville, Ga., went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Thursday, June 8, 2017. She was 70.

She was a lifelong resident of the North Georgia area and was a member of Rossville First Baptist Church.

Annette had worked as a Dental Lab Technician for most of her life and loved spending time outside gardening.

She loved The Lord with all her heart and enjoyed being with family and friends. She was a loving and devoted daughter, sister and friend who will be truly missed by all who knew her.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Faye Medley and two brothers, Kay Howard Medley and Charles Medley.

Survivors include: two brothers, Tom Medley and Steve Medley both of Flintstone, Ga.; lifelong friend, Sheila McCloud; loving furry companion, Cloe; several nieces, nephews and numerous extended family and friends.

The family will receive friends from 4-8 p.m. Saturday and prior to the service on Sunday at the funeral home.

Funeral services: will be held at 3:00 p.m. Sunday, June 11, in the Fort Oglethorpe Chapel with Rev. David Lively and Rev. Paul Williams officiatin­g.
