A Chattanooga man recently answered to a handful of Fort Oglethorpe traffic charges stemming from an incident last fall where he allegedly lead officers in a chase while on a motorcycle, police say.
According to the Fort Oglethorpe Police Department:
David C. Pendergrass, 43, of 5306 Dupont St. in Chattanooga, was arrested June 9 on charges of fleeing or attempting to elude police, driving while license suspended, improper lane change, operation of a motor vehicle without a proper tag and failure to yield to an authorized emergency vehicle.
About eight hours after his arrest, Pendergrass was released from jail on bond,
Pendergrass’ run-in with Fort Oglethorpe police began on Sept. 4, 2016, when officers discovered his motorcycle parked in front of the Walmart on Battlefield Parkway with no visible license plate on it.
A short time later, Pendergrass was spotted riding along Battlefield Parkway when he decided to run from officers.
Pendergrass eventually lost pursuing police in the area of Davis Ridge Road.
On June 9, FOPD officials were notified that Pendergrass had been arrested in Hamilton County, Tenn., on the active warrants.
Pendergrass was then extradited back to Catoosa County where he was charged for the September incident by Fort Oglethorpe police.
