Residence, storage unit burglarize­d

Catoosa County detectives are investigat­ing two burglaries in which a Ringgold home and a storage unit were broken into.

According to the Catoosa County Sheriff’s Department, the two burglaries occurred on two separate occasions between June 3 and 6.

The first incident occurred at a storage unit on Liberty Lane, in which the burglar(s) made off with more than $3,000 worth of property.

The victim told police he arrived at his unit June 3 to find his unit’s lock tampered with. He claimed he locked the unit property during his previous visit.

Multiple boxes, a computer, TV, and other miscellane­ous electronic­s and tools were missing from the unit.

Detectives were able to obtain video footage of the scene from the business’ security cameras.

The second burglary occurred in the 14,000 block of Ga. 151 (Alabama Highway) sometime during the night of June 5 or early morning hours of June 6.

Around 7:30 a.m. on June 6, the victim called police after discoverin­g someone forced entry into his home through the back door and took one of his firearms.

The gun is described as a Sig Sauer P226 handgun.

There was also visible damage to the back door of the victim’s home where it’d been busted open.
