Major motion picture to take over the historic railroad tunnel

-

Exiting news coming out of the small town of Tunnel Hill in Whitfield County. The historic railroad tunnel, which was built in the 1850’s to allow trains to pass through Chetoogeta Mountain, will become the location for a scene out of a Major Motion Picture. Although the Dalton Convention & Visitors Bureau isn’t saying much about the project, Anthony Luke, Marketing Manager for the CVB, and Camera Ready Liaison for Whitfield County and Georgia Film, had this to say; “We are very excited about the Tunnel being chosen as a location in the movie. We can’t say much about the scene, but I can tell you that the folks with the production company were amazed by the Tunnel. They visited the location numerous times, driving up from Atlanta, bringing more and more people each time they came. From what we were told, the Tunnel quickly became popular conversation with the film crew.”

The Tunnel being chosen as a location for a scene out of a Major Motion Picture couldn’t have come at a better time, as this is the Year of Georgia Film, a celebration of the success the State has had with the filming industry. Currently, Georgia is one of the hottest locations for movie productions, with over fifty movies and television shows filming in August alone.

The movie, which is set for release in 2019, began filming in June. However, no dates were given at this time for when the crews will be in Tunnel Hill to film this particular scene.
