Middle School Volleyball: LaFayette aces Lakeview test

The Tigers moved to 2-0 with the home victory. No other individual statistics were not provided as of press time.

Ringgold will play at Dade County on Thursday, while Heritage (0-2) will host Saddle Ridge. Both games will begin at 4:30.

The LaFayette Lady Ramblers got big nights at the service line from Shelley Warren and Shelby Madden in last Tuesday’s straight set sweep of visiting Lakeview.

In the opener, the Lady Ramblers led 8-6 when Warren stepped to the line.

She never left as she clicked off 17 consecutiv­e service points to end the opening set and give LaFayette the 25-6 victory.

Then in the second set, Madden reeled off 12 straight points in the middle of the match to give her team control for good as they went on to a 25-10 win.

Bella Brown and Kylie Grant both earned 100 percent on serving and passing, while Grant had four aces total.

Brittany Aguero also served at 100 percent, as did Madden, who also picked up six aces and an assist.

Alex Wysong finished with five kills, while Warren had five assists and also finished with 100 serving. Warren ended the night with nine total aces.

Lakeview got three aces from Madison Dorsey and two kills and an ace from Rachel Lopez in the loss.

Taliyah Holland and Aren Moss both had one kill and Moss also added a block, while Madison Smith also served up an ace.

The JV match saw the Lady Ramblers pick up a sweep, 25-9 and 25-8.

Madden, Kenedy Ludy, Sierra Cunningham and Michaela Baker all connected on 100 percent of their serves and all had at least one ace. M

adden picked up two assists, Ludy added one assist, Michaela Baker had two kills and Cunningham recorded one kill. Erin Ball and Kylie Grant also had aces for LaFayette.

Ringgold beats Chattanoog­a Valley, Dade County

The varsity Ringgold Lady Tigers needed three sets, but finally got past Chattanoog­a Valley on Tuesday. The Lady Eagles won the opener, 25-19, but Ringgold would claim the final two sets, 25-23 and 25-16, to win the thrilling contest.

Cady Helton had four aces for Ringgold, followed by Hailey Headrick and Allison Wolf-Driver with three each. Maclaine Donovan had two aces. Iley Barnes added one, while Barnes and Destiny Cavin were praised for their defensive efforts.

For the Lady Eagles, Annabel Hill had seven kills. Bailey Fowler had five kills and four digs, while Paris Shelton had three kills, three aces and a dig. Lexie Young served up four aces. Koda O’Dell had four digs and a kill, while Bekak Isbinski also had

a kill.

Asia Silmon collected three digs, while Madison Lennon and Hannah Mason had one each. Kaydence Johnson, along with Lennon and Silmon were standouts at the setter position.

In the JV match, Ringgold won in two sets, 25-20 and 25-22.

Tahj Griggs and Erin Harvey had four aces apiece for the Lady Tigers. Alexis Brackett recorded three, while Sophia Patterson, Sarakate Deberry, Tiffany Cavin and Emmie Chilton all added one.

Molly Pickard had three aces for CVMS, followed by Tia Maffett and Alyssa Wooten with two each. Brianna McQueen and Emily

Ensley each finished with two digs, while Sara Friar and Caitlyn Smolik were standouts at setter.

The Lady Tigers claimed a three-set victory against Dade County this past Thursday, winning by scores of 25-11, 9-25 and 25-5.

Helton had a team-high six aces for Ringgold (6-3), followed by Headrick with three. Ashlyn Roberson and Barnes served up two aces apiece. Donovan and Destiny Cavin each had one ace. Cavin and Barnes paced the team in kills with two and one, respective­ly.

In the JV match, Ringgold won 25-11 and 25-9.

Chilton had eight aces. Griggs recorded three while Harvey, Bethany Cavin and Brackett had two each. Jenna Pease had one ace.
