Funeral services: 11:30 AM on Monday, November 6, 2017 in the South Crest Chapel with Reverend Paul Williams officiatin­g.

Interment: With military honors at Chattanoog­a National Cemetery.

Donna S. McCallie Dyer, 92, Flintstone, Ga.

Donna S. McCallie Dyer, 92, of Flintstone, GA passed away peacefully on Thursday, November 2, 2017 in a local hospital.

Mrs. Dyer was a native of Ridge Farm, IL, lived many years in Birmingham, AL and had resided in Flintstone, GA for over 30 years. She was a member of the Brainerd Methodist Church and retired from Chattanoog­a Glass Company in 1986 with 23 years of service. She enjoyed attending baseball spring training for over 30 years, as well as working crossword puzzles and word finds.

She was preceded in death by her son, Larry Stafford; parents, RoAnna and Carl Stafford; and son-inlaw, David Theobald.

Survivors include her husband of 30 years, Vaughn Dyer; children, Kaye Dorsett of East Brainerd, Michael (Pam) McCallie of East Brainerd, Pat (Pam) McCallie of East Brainerd, and Denise Theobald of Flintstone, GA; step-children, Dee McCumbee of Ocala, FL, David (Holly) Dyer of Ocala, FL, and Jane Wall of Ringgold, GA; sister, Jackie (Jay) Lanza of The Villages, FL; seven grandchild­ren; and eight great grandchild­ren.

Visitation: Sunday from 1:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m.at the South Crest Chapel with a private burial for family at a later time.

Gladys H. Wallace, 93, of Crossville, went to her heavenly home to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and was reunited with her parents, son, many siblings, family members and friends on Friday, November 3, 2017.

Gladys was born on October 4, 1924 to the late Charlie Walter and Nellie Gooch Rothwell. She worked as an executive housekeepe­r for many years at the Read House in Chattanoog­a. In addition to her parents, she is also preceded in death by her husbands, Thomas C. Wallace and John C. Hamilton, brothers, James, Harold, Clarence and Caulie Rothwell and her sister, Ruth (Jim) Swafford.

Survivors include her daughter, Patricia Hamilton Redwine, grand-daughters, Cynthia (Allen) Tabor, Melinda (Tony) Cox and Penny Hamilton, great-grandchild­ren, Patrick Turner, Gage Cox, Mason Cox, Jessica Tabor, Katelyn Tabor, sisters, Jewel McClure, Ruby Doss, brother, Clyde (Bobbie) Rothwell and many special nieces, nephews and a number of good friends and neighbors.

Funeral services: 1:00 PM CT on Tuesday, November 7, 2017 at Summer City Baptist Church, 48071 SR 30, Pikeville, TN 37367 with Pastor Tony Wilson officiatin­g.

Interment: Summer City Cemetery.

Visitation: At the church from 11:00 AM until the service hour on Tuesday.

Martha Sue Powell Bryson, age 85 of Ringgold, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, November 4, 2017 at a local nursing home, surrounded by her family. She was born to the late Raymond and Cecil Tippins Powell, was a lifelong resident of Ringgold and was of the Baptist Faith. Martha was a loving mother, grandmothe­r, and aunt, who will be greatly missed.

She was also preceded in death by her loving husband, of 52 yrs., Leroy Bryson.

Martha is survived by her children, Sharon (Dennis) Walker, Michael (Trillis) Bryson and Lamar (Melanie) Bryson; 5 grandchild­ren; 8 great grandchild­ren; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral service: 2:00 pm on Tuesday, November 7, 2017 in the funeral home chapel, with Bro. Scott Black officiatin­g.

Interment: Anderson Cemetery.

Visitation: 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Monday and prior to the service on Tuesday.

Jerry Michael Barnes, 78, Ringgold, Ga.

Jerry Michael Barnes, age 78, passed away on Friday, November 3, 2017 at his home in Ringgold.

He was born in Rockmart, Ga and has been a resident of the Chattanoog­a Area since 1977. He was employed for 20 yrs. with Frito-Lay, Inc. in Georgia, Tennessee and Virginia, and retired from L.M. Robbins. He was an avid bowler, an officer with the Chattanoog­a Area USBC and a devoted member of the Church of Christ.

He was preceded in death by his parents, John J. and Josephine Drew Barnes, and brothers, Donald Barnes and Johnny Barnes.

Jerry is survived by his loving wife, of 56 yrs., Anne Shadburn Barnes; daughters, Emily Barnes Patton (Gil) and JerriAnn Barnes; son, Christophe­r M. Barnes; grandson, Alex Patton; brother, Darrell Barnes of Rockmart, GA; sisterin-law, Bobbie Jane Barnes; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation: 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm on Sunday at the funeral home.

Private family funeral service at a later date.

The family has requested no flowers for the visitation.

Carlene Spates, 67, LaFayette, Ga.

Ms. Carlene Spates, age 67, of LaFayette, Georgia, passed away Tuesday, October 31, 2017.

She was born in LaFayette, Georgia to the late Thatcher Spates and Carrie Winford Powell Spates. She retired from Roper after thirty-six years and was preceded in death by her siblings, Henry Spates, Sue Agnes Spates, Marion Spates, Larry Spates, Betty Mae Spates Bailey, Elgie Spates, and Lougene Wright.

She is survived by her sisters-inlaw, Rosie Spates of Kensington, Georgia and Linda Watson Spates of LaFayette, Georgia; special niece, Barbara Berry; a host of other dear nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives and friends.

Funeral service: Sunday, November 5, 2017 at 2:00 P.M. at the Cove Road Church of God, 616 North Chattanoog­a St., LaFayette, Georgia 30728, with Pastor James Brown and other ministers officiatin­g.

Visitation: At the church one hour before the service.

Interment: LaFayette Cemetery.
