Gor­don Lee fin­ishes busy week still un­scathed

Gor­don Lee added to its strong start to the year with three more vic­to­ries last week.

Gor­don Lee 6, Rossville 4

The Tro­jans picked up a hard-fought win over the Bull­dogs last Tues­day night in Chicka­mauga.

Lead­off hit­ter Kade Cowan went 2-for-3, while Gar­ren Ramey added a dou­ble and drew two walks. Blake Rodgers, Chase Rider and Cody McCutcheon each had a hit, while McCutcheon struck out six Bull­dogs on the mound.

Rossville (0-3) made a late charge by scor­ing three times in the top of the sev­enth, but fell two runs short.

Zack Har­ri­son was 2-for-4 for the Bull­dogs. He drove in two runs, stole two bases and struck out three in two in­nings on the mound. Chris Mad­deaux pitched five in­nings with four strike­outs and added a dou­ble at the plate with a stolen base. Ethan Wa­ters and Lo­gan Fowler both had RBI’s, Dy­lan Cur­tis added a hit and Hud­son Couch swiped three bases.

Gor­don Lee 8, Dade County 7

The Tro­jans picked up a nice road win on Thurs­day as Cowan, Rider, Cur­tis Wells, Holt Roberts, Tan­ner Wil­son and Nate Dun­fee all had hits for the Tro­jans, who moved to 3-0.

De­tails on Gor­don Lee’s non-league game with South Pitts­burg (Tenn.) on Fri­day had not been pro­vided as of press time. De­tails were also not pro­vided on Rossville’s non-league dou­ble­header with Jasper (Tenn.), which was also slated for this past Fri­day.

Gor­don Lee 16, South Pitts­burg 3

Back in Chicka­mauga on Fri­day, McCutcheon, the start­ing pitcher, 2-for-2 with a dou­ble in the rout. Mid­dle re­liever Ethan Rider was 1-for-1 and Wil­son added a triple and closed the game on the mound. To­gether, they com­bined for six RBIs.

Dun­fee was 2-for3 with a pair of RBIs, while Roberts with 3-for-4 with three runs driven in. Cowan and Brodie Gen­ter also had hits for the Tro­jans.

The War­riors (4-0) erupted at the plate Thurs­day af­ter­noon, claim­ing a big home win over the Ea­gles on Cross Street.

Peyton Tip­ton threw four in­nings and got the win on the mound. Carter Davis had two hits. Will Car­roll picked up a three­run dou­ble, while Blanken­ship had a tworun dou­ble.
