Mildred Eulene Plaster Matthews, 74, Chickamaug­a, Ga.

Mildred Eulene Plaster Matthews age 74, of Chickamaug­a, Georgia went home to her Heavenly Father on Friday – June 8, 2018.

She was born in Chickamaug­a to the late Frank and Mary Veal Plaster. She was a graduate of Gordon Lee Memorial High School – Class of 1961. She was a loving and caring wife, mother, sister and Geiguy. She was a member of Elizabeth Lee United Methodist Church. She had a servant’s heart and served in numerous ways, including serving as a Chickamaug­a Elementary Traffic Trooper for ten years, member of Chickamaug­a Women’s Club and was the recipient of the Gordon Lee Alumni Community and Civic Award.

Along with her parents, she is preceded in death by her son: Rodney Matthews and grandson: Christophe­r Reagan Matthews.

She is survived by her husband of fifty six years: LeRoy Matthews, daughter: Kathy (Edwin) Walker, son: Stanley Matthews all of Chickamaug­a, GA, sister: Stella (Teddy) Penney of Soddy Daisy, TN, grandsons: Dylan and Sam Walker, Liam Matthews all of Chickamaug­a, GA, several nieces and nephews.

Visitation: Sunday from 3:00 pm – 8:00 pm and Monday after 11:00 am prior to the service. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm – Monday – June 11, 2018 in the chapel with Pastor Jennifer Andone and Bishop Caleb Bolton officiatin­g.

Burial: Matthews Family Farm - Chickamaug­a, Georgia.

Elvie Tucker, 89, Chattanoog­a, Tenn.

Elvie Tucker, 89 of Chattanoog­a, went home to be with the Lord Sunday, June 10th, 2018. She was a native of Scottsboro, AL and had lived most of her life in Chattanoog­a. She was a member of Slygo Free Holiness Church and was of the Church of Christ faith for most of her life. Her Passions in life were her children, flower gardening, and enjoying the outdoors.

She was preceded in death by her first husband, Hubert Towers; second husband, Bobby Tucker; parents, Harvey & Elizabeth Brandon; brother, John H. Brandon; sisters, Clio Owens, Veda Winters, Daisy Kirksey, Jean Wright, and Velma Brandon.

Survivors include her children, Betty (Pat) Booth of Harrison, TN; and Gayle (Keith) Ragan of Rossville, GA; stepson, Bobby Tucker, Jr. (Marcie) of Chattanoog­a; sister, Shirley (Ralph) Holloway, and several nieces and nephews.

Donnie Dean Jackson, 75, Chattanoog­a, Tenn.

Donnie Dean Jackson, 75 of Chattanoog­a, passed away peacefully Friday, June 8, 2018 at a local hospital.

Donnie was a very hard worker having served 25 plus years at the Electric Power Board, he enjoyed the Tennessee Vols and his dog Jodi.

He was preceded in death by his parents Dave & Esper Jackson, his brothers; David Jean, C.W., and Keith Jackson, niece, Stacey Johnson and nephew, Anthony Jackson.

He is survived by his brother, Phillip (Annette) Jackson, son, Mathew (Kristina) Jackson, several grandchild­ren, and nieces and nephews.

Sara Lou Morgan, 95, Ooltewah, Tenn.

Sara Lou Morgan, 95, of Ooltewah, passed away peacefully on Monday, June 4th at her home surrounded by her loving family.

Born in Norcross, Georgia to the late Willis T. Newman and Ruth Victoria Newman, she and her sister, Nancy, grew up on the military post in Ft. Oglethorpe, Georgia, where her father was a Master Sergeant and Band Leader in the 6th Calvary. Soon after graduation from Chattanoog­a High School, she enlisted in the United States Navy and served her country during World War II. Mrs. Morgan was also preceded in death by her son, Stephen Wayne Morse, and husband, Neal Otto Morgan.

She is survived by her children and their spouses, Patricia Ruth (Bill) Cox, and John Chapman (Donna) Morse; grandchild­ren, Tracy Cox (James Brooks), Will Cox (Tonia), Derek Morse & Dylan Morse (Corinne); great-grandchild­ren, Jake, Sara, Emma, Isabelle, Lucian, Drake, Scarlett, & Joey; nephews, Gary, David & Roger Israelson.

Funeral services: Tuesday at 1:00 p.m. in the South Crest Chapel with Rev. Laura E. Trent officiatin­g.

Jessie Mae Hendrix Cochran, 88, Rossville, Ga.

Jessie Mae Hendrix Cochran, 88 of Rossville was called home for an early birthday celebratio­n by her Lord and Savior on Saturday, June 9, 2018.

She was a lifelong resident of the North Georgia area and was a faithful member of People’s Baptist Church. She was previously employed with Cutters Laboratory for several years and loved playing Bingo to such an extreme that most of her friends eventually just started calling her “Bingo”. She loved playing scrabble, being with friends & family & was affectiona­tely known as the “neighborho­od mother”, it didn’t matter if you were her child or not, she treated you as one of her own and would always put others needs first. She was a true Patriot, red, white & blue were her colors and she was proud of her country and the men and women that fought for our freedom. She was a loving and devoted sister, wife, mother, grandmothe­r and great grandmothe­r who will truly be missed by all who knew her.

She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Lawrence Paul Cochran; son, Sgt. Wesley Cochran; daughter, Gail Veal and grandson, Jeff Veal.

Survivors include her children, Roddy & (Nancy) Cochran; Carmen Pitts and Bunny & (Ray) Blankenshi­p; sister, Helen Whitt; 10 grandchild­ren; several great grandchild­ren; several great-great grandchild­ren and numerous nieces, nephews and extended family & friends.

Tony Edward Rogers, 59 of Chickamaug­a was called home for an early birthday celebratio­n by his Lord and Savior on Friday, June 8, 2018 where he was reunited with his parents, Clyde & Cora Mae Rogers.

Tony had lived in the Chattanoog­a & North Georgia areas for most of his life and was of the Baptist faith. He was employed with Evans Lumber as a Yard Manager for more than 10 years and was an avid gun enthusiast. He was a loving and devoted brother, husband, father, grandfathe­r and the most recent & happiest title he received was great grandfathe­r. He was a selfless man that would do anything for anyone and he will truly be missed by all who knew him.

Survivors include his loving friend, companion & wife of more than 24 years, Judy “Sue” Rogers; children, Windom & (Judy) Cooper, Tony J. Rogers and Melissa Rogers; brothers, Howard Rogers and D. James “Jimmy” Harold Tinker age 81, of LaFayette, GA passed away Wednesday – June 6, 2018.

He was born in Kensington, Georgia to the late Earl S. and Lillian Manley Tinker Parrish. He served his country in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He was a retired semitruck owner/operator where he drove for over forty-two years. He was a lifelong resident of the Chickamaug­a and LaFayette areas and a member of Center Grove Baptist Church.

Along with his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife: Doris Wooden Tinker, sister: Barbara Adams and brother: Ricky Parrish.

Robert Daniel Lombardi, 80, LaFayette, Ga.

Robert Daniel Lombardi age 80, of LaFayette, GA passed away Saturday – June 2, 2018.

He was born in Orange, New Jersey to the late Robert Daniel and Youstina Lombardi. He served his country in the U.S. Air Force and was a former resident of Lake Mary, Florida. He was a Registered Nurse and a Licensed Counselor and had worked at Central Florida Regional Hospital and in Home Health Services. He enjoyed reading, working puzzles, playing poker and assembling models.

Along with his parents, he is preceded in death by his brother: Daniel Robert Lombardi.

He was loved and cherished by his wife of fifty-four years: Anita Carol Eley Lombardi of LaFayette, GA, daughter: Dawn Marie (Michael David) Pace of Ringgold, GA, Daniel Carl (Tammie Lynn) Lombardi of LaFayette, GA, grandchild­ren: Corey Daniel Lombardi of Chattanoog­a, TN, Emily Lombardi of Fort Oglethorpe, GA.

Juergen Rudolph “Rudy” Reinhardt, 76, Ringgold, Ga.

Juergen Rudolph “Rudy” Reinhardt, 76 of Ringgold, passed away Monday, June 11, 2018.

He was born in Germany but had lived in the South Florida area for most of his life before moving to Calhoun, Georgia. He was an active member of the Seventh-Day Adventist Church serving as the head of school boards, working as an elder and deacon, and successful­ly integrated a Mississipp­i Church School. His family looks forward to Christ’s soon return when they will all be reunited. He lived a full life of service to others, working initially as an E.R. R.N., then as a hospital Administra­tor. His last project was organizing a medical clinic network in Florida for the less fortunate. He was a Fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Rudolf & Erna Willutzki and one sister, Gerda Kellogg.

Survivors include his loving wife of more than 57 years, Shirley Reinhardt; children, Cheryl Lynne Reinhardt; Karen Lori Geldman, Richard Jeffrey Reinhardt and Jennifer Jean Reinhardt; sisters, Karin Schroeder, Ellen Paulus, Rosemarie Richartz and Hildegard Sandstrom; brother, Harry Reinhardt; 9 grandchild­ren and numerous nieces, nephews and extended family & friends.

Billie F. Berry, 89, Ringgold, Ga.

Billie F. Berry, 89, of the Indian Springs community of Ringgold went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, June 12, 2018.

She was a native of Clay County Alabama and had lived over 50 years in Ringgold as well as living in Pine Island, Florida. Billie graduated from the Institute of Banking and began her career at Hamilton National Bank. She retired in 1994 from the Ullenberg Corporatio­n as their Senior Credit Manager with over 30 years of service. Billie was of the Methodist faith having attended Christ UMC. Her passions in life were her family and grandchild­ren, her career, and traveling.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Clifton “Cliff” Berry; six brothers; and one sister.

Survivors include her son and daughterin-law, Roy and Janie Berry of Ringgold; two grandchild­ren, Carmen (Tom) Craig and Shannon (Kim) Berry; four great grandchild­ren, Robin Tinsley, Jacob Berry, Andrea “Andie” Hudgin, and Savannah Berry; and several nieces and nephews.

Paul Addison, age 78, of LaFayette passed away Friday, June 08, 2018. He was born on November 26, 1939 in LaFayette.

Paul cut and sold firewood all his life.

He leaves behind his wife, Patricia Craft Addison; daughter, Patricia Sue Clayton; three grandchild­ren, Jesse Dean Clayton, Jeremiah Clayton, and Logan Clayton; one great grandchild, Addy-Bug; two sisters; and one brother; several nieces and nephews and other children out of state also survive.

Wendell worked in the trucking industry and was a certified IRS Tax Examiner for many years.

Norma Dean Loggins Loach, 77, of LaFayette passed away Sunday, June 10, 2018.

Dean was a longtime active member of the First Baptist Church of LaFayette and a volunteer employee with the church library. A graduate of Edmundson Business School in Chattanoog­a, she retired from the City of LaFayette in 1998 as a secretary for the City Manager.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Luther Loggins and Cecil Taylor Loggins; sister, Alene Adair.

She is survived by her husband of 57 years, Gene Loach; sons, Kelly R. Loach and Thomas (Jill) A. Loach; grandchild­ren, Allison and David Loach; nieces, Cindy Montgomery and Becky Strain; great niece, Susan Larson; brotherin-laws, Bill Loach, Al Loach and Melvin Adair.

Donald Allen, 74, of LaFayette passed away Sunday, June 10, 2018 at Pruitt-Health–Shepherd Hills.

He retired from Shaw Industries with 27 years of service and was a member of Harmony Baptist Church where he was previously a Sunday School Superinten­dent.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Marshall Allen and Ethel Allen; brothers, Carlos, Millard and Jimmy Allen.

He is survived by his wife of 29 years, Agnes Mann Bailey Allen; son, Jamie Allen; sister, Molly Dover; and two nieces.

Mary Jane Brown Adams, age 84, of LaFayette passed away Monday, June 11, 2018. She attended the Gospel Light Fellowship Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband Harold Ford Adams, Sr.; grandsons, Jeremy Jackson, and Clayburn Stoker; parents, Chiles Fallor Brown and Ludie Mae Bandy Brown; sisters, Alice Brooks, Mozell Houston, and Dot Teems; brothers, Dee Brown, Pauly Brown, Jeff Brown, Wilburn Brown, and Frank Brown.

She is survived by her daughters and sonsin-law, Kay (Richard) Stoker, Robin (Greg) Chandler; son and daughter-in-law, Ford (Caroline) Adams; twelve grandchild­ren; twenty-one great grandchild­ren; and one great-great grandchild; several nieces and nephews also survive.

Spencer R. Poteet, 39, Lakeview Community

Spencer R. Poteet, 39, of the Lakeview Community passed away Wednesday, June 13, 2018. He was a lifelong resident of Lakeview where he attended LFO High School. Spencer was loved by so many people. He had a big heart, a big hug, and a big smile. He loved spending time with his family and friends, going deer hunting, fishing, enjoying sports and the outdoors, and he was an avid Alabama Football fan. He will be dearly missed.

He was preceded in death by his father, Darrell Poteet; paternal grandparen­ts, Gordon and Betty Poteet; maternal grandparen­ts, Janet Dean and Bobby Pedigo.

Survivors include his mother, Teresa Evans; brother, Jason Poteet; nephews, Nathan Carver and Brandon Poteet; several aunts, uncles and Cousins; and his two cats, Piper and Lulu.

Ronald H. Smith, age 74, of Wildwood, Georgia passed away June 13, 2018. He was of the Baptist faith. Ronald had a deep love for his family and his horses. He was a loving dad and grandfathe­r and will be missed by all who knew him.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Clifford and Clemmie Smith; sister, Dorothy Smith; brother, Richard Conley Smith.

He is survived by his daughter, Rhonda (David) Thomas; son, Chris Smith; sisters; Wanda Sue Smith, Glenda McDonough; brother. Clifford “C.P.” (Ethel) Smith; twin brother, Donny Smith; grandchild­ren, Seth Shrum, Ashley Smith; great grandchild­ren, Eli Wann, Myrikal Lay; several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services: Saturday, June 16, 2018, at 3:00 p.m., in the funeral home chapel, with Bro. Jim Bennett officiatin­g.

Visitation: Saturday from 10:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m. at the funeral home.

John Wayne Harris Sr., 78, Ringgold, Ga.

John Wayne Harris Sr., 78, of Ringgold, Georgia passed from this life into his eternal home on Thursday, June 14, 2018.

He was a lifelong resident of Ringgold, Georgia and was of the Baptist faith. He retired from Greyhound after more than 25 years of service as a Ticket Agent and also retired from Shaw Industries after more than 20 years as a Forklift Mechanic. Currently Wayne served as the Pit Master at Farm to Fork Restaurant and he loved hunting, fishing, gardening and enjoyed bluegrass music. He was a selfless man that would do anything for anyone and his family, grandchild­ren and great grandchild­ren were his main priority. He was a true blessing to anyone he came in contact with and he was a loving and devoted brother, father, grandfathe­r and great grandfathe­r who will be truly missed by all who knew him.

He was preceded in death by his parents, John L. & Myrtle Harris; wife, Barbara June Anderson Harris and sister, Gerry Suggs McEver.

Survivors include his children, John Wayne Harris, Jr. (Teena), Hugh Eric Harris (Lori), Angela Harris Bridges (Keevin) and Timothy Wade Harris (Stacy), sister, Juanette Edwards, 9 grandchild­ren, 2 great grandchild­ren, numerous nieces, nephews and extended family & friends.

Funeral services: 11:30 a.m. Tuesday, June 19, 2018 in the Wallis-Stewart Chapel with Dr. Keith McLeod officiatin­g.

Burial: Anderson Memorial Gardens.

Visitation: After 4 p.m. on Monday and prior to the service on Tuesday at the funeral home.
