Community Health & Fitness Expo coming to Colonnade in Ringgold

North Georgia Healthcare Center (Nghcc-ringgold) will host a Community Health and Fitness Expo on Tuesday, Oct. 2, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at The Colonnade Center, 264 Catoosa Circle in Ringgold.

The event is sponsored by National Boiler Systems, Community National Bank and Flegal Insurance. In addition, Choo Choo Restaurant (Ringgold) is sponsoring the Vendor’s Lunch.

Exhibitors will provide health and health-related informatio­n and resources that address the entire family. There will be plenty of vendor promotiona­l items, door prizes and materials to take home.

October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month so CHI Memorial/mary Ellen Locher Center will have representa­tives available to provide educationa­l materials and informatio­n to raise the level of awareness of this disease. The CHI Memorial Breathe Easy Mobile Lung Unit will be onsite offering screenings. They will take private pay insurance as well as Medicare and Medicaid for the costs. Appointmen­ts are not required but can be scheduled by calling 423-495-5864.

Also, onsite will be a virtual dementia tour conducted by Kindred Health Care representa­tives. Free health screenings (provided by NGHCC) and vision screenings (provided by Profession­al Eye) will be offered.

This is a free event and everyone is invited to attend. There will be a raffle for a flat-screen TV, a Visa gift card and an Android smart watch. So get your tickets early by calling 706935-6442 or purchase at the event. Though we hope winners will be on hand to claim their prize you do not have to be present to win. Door prizes will be given out throughout the day and the raffle drawing will be held at approximat­ely 2:30 p.m. Mike Key of Mike Key Entertainm­ent will be our Host Emcee and DJ for the day.
