REVIVAL • Bethlehem Baptist Church, 278 Oak Grove Road, Chickamauga, will hold a revival Nov. 11- 16 with Evangelist Bobby Barnes.
CHURCH • Linwood Baptist Church in Lafayette will hold a special Veterans Day service on Sunday, Nov. 11, beginning at 10:45 a.m. There will be a special speaker and music. The church will be honoring and recognizing all those
who served in the defense of the nation through the years.
COMMUNITY • On Sunday, Nov. 11, Point Park, atop Lookout Mountain, and part of Chickamauga and Chattanooga National Military Park, is waiving the entrance fee for all visitors to honor those who have served in our armed forces. Come enjoy the beautiful views of Chattanooga and its surrounding areas from historic Lookout Mountain, where soldiers struggled during the “Battle Above the Clouds”. During the day, ranger-guided walks are given at 11 am, 2 pm,
and 4 pm. These walks begin inside the Point Park entrance gate and last 30 to 45 minutes. COMMUNITY • On Sunday, Nov. 11, at 2 pm, join the staff of Chickamauga and Chattanooga National Military Park for a special two- hour car caravan
tour exploring the role of Chickamauga Battlefield and Fort Oglethorpe during the First and Second World Wars. This program begins inside the Chickamauga Battlefield Visitor Center. BENEFIT • A benefit lunch will be held Sunday, Nov. 11, at the
Cedar Grove Community Center, 5395 West Cove Road, Chickamauga, (in Mclemore Cove) at 12:30 p. m. Proceeds will go to Wendy Kingsley Moore and Rick Owens, who are experiencing major medical problems. The menu is a standard BBQ meal and is furnished by Camp New Dawn, Cedar Grove Community Club and Antioch Baptist Church. Donations will be accepted. Call 423- 9948485 for more information.

MEETING • The Catoosa County Historical Society
will meet Monday, Nov. 12, at 7 p. m. at the Old Stone Church Museum, located two miles South of Ringgold on U. S. Highway 41 just before the intersection with Ga. Highway 2. The speaker is area historian Greg Martin, who will present a program on Abraham Lincoln. The public is always welcome to attend and learn more about the county’s history. It promises to be an evening of fine fellowship, good fun and an interesting program. Refreshments will be provided after the meeting.

CHURCH • You are invited to join Keith Baptist Church for their fall revival services. Jimmy Mcclure, pastor of North Georgia Baptist Church, will be preaching and Sacrifice will be singing during the services. COMMUNITY • The Walker County Republican Party is hosting Veteran Night. “We are expressing our appreciation to area veterans with a special Veterans Night. For the third consecutive year, members of the Republican Party choose to honor our veterans by treating
each to a delicious free meal, which will be served this year at the Walker County Civic Center on Thursday, Nov. 15, from 6-8 p.m. approximately. Also invited, at $15 each, are the relatives and friends of our veterans. A reservation must be received by Nov. 7 for each participant. This special dinner is open to all no matter the political affiliation of the veteran. There will be feasting, singing, praying, dancing by a troupe of college girls, laughter, and story telling. Friendship and thankfulness are the watch words.” Two special speakers have agreed to share their thoughts. Brian Hart, a local hero, who was an engineer in the Army, and Boyd Lackey, a resident of a nearby town who was a chaplain in the Army, will each speak briefly. CHURCH • The Women’s Ministry at First Baptist Church, located at 2645 Lafayette Road, Fort Oglethorpe, will hold a Heavenly Homemade & Vendor Fair in the church fellowship hall on Saturday, Nov. 17, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sale items will include unique homemade crafts, baked goods perfect for the Thanksgiving holiday and items by local vendors. The public is urged to come and purchase one or many items for Thanksgiving or for Christmas presents. Proceeds will benefit FBC Women’s Ministry, Free to Be Campaign and missions. COMMUNITY • Christmas wishes will come true at the Lafayette Walker County Library when Cocoa with Santa returns. On Tuesday, Nov. 27, from 4 p.m. to 6:30 p.m., Santa and Mrs. Claus will be available for pictures. Bring your camera to capture the magical moments. The children will enjoyed cookies, candy canes and cocoa and get their pictures made with Santa and Mrs. Claus. Cocoa with Santa costs $5.
