RE­VIVAL • Bethlehem Bap­tist Church, 278 Oak Grove Road, Chicka­mauga, will hold a re­vival Nov. 11- 16 with Evan­ge­list Bobby Barnes.

CHURCH • Lin­wood Bap­tist Church in Lafayette will hold a spe­cial Vet­er­ans Day ser­vice on Sun­day, Nov. 11, be­gin­ning at 10:45 a.m. There will be a spe­cial speaker and mu­sic. The church will be hon­or­ing and rec­og­niz­ing all those

who served in the de­fense of the na­tion through the years.

COM­MU­NITY • On Sun­day, Nov. 11, Point Park, atop Look­out Mountain, and part of Chicka­mauga and Chattanooga Na­tional Mil­i­tary Park, is waiv­ing the en­trance fee for all vis­i­tors to honor those who have served in our armed forces. Come en­joy the beau­ti­ful views of Chattanooga and its sur­round­ing ar­eas from his­toric Look­out Mountain, where sol­diers strug­gled dur­ing the “Bat­tle Above the Clouds”. Dur­ing the day, ranger-guided walks are given at 11 am, 2 pm,

and 4 pm. These walks be­gin in­side the Point Park en­trance gate and last 30 to 45 min­utes. BEN­E­FIT • A ben­e­fit lunch will be held Sun­day, Nov. 11, at the

Cedar Grove Com­mu­nity Cen­ter, 5395 West Cove Road, Chicka­mauga, (in Mcle­more Cove) at 12:30 p. m. Pro­ceeds will go to Wendy Kings­ley Moore and Rick Owens, who are ex­pe­ri­enc­ing ma­jor med­i­cal prob­lems. The menu is a stan­dard BBQ meal and is fur­nished by Camp New Dawn, Cedar Grove Com­mu­nity Club and Antioch Bap­tist Church. Do­na­tions will be ac­cepted. Mon­day, Nov. 12

MEET­ING • The Catoosa County His­tor­i­cal So­ci­ety

will meet Mon­day, Nov. 12, at 7 p. m. at the Old Stone Church Mu­seum, lo­cated two miles South of Ringgold on U. S. High­way 41 just be­fore the in­ter­sec­tion with Ga. High­way 2. The speaker is area his­to­rian Greg Martin, who will pre­sent a pro­gram on Abra­ham Lin­coln. The pub­lic is al­ways wel­come to at­tend and learn more about the county’s his­tory. It prom­ises to be an evening of fine fel­low­ship, good fun and an in­ter­est­ing pro­gram. Re­fresh­ments will be pro­vided af­ter the meet­ing.

MEET­ING • North­west Ge­or­gia Coun­cil of the Blind will meet Tues­day, Nov. 13, at 1 p.m. at The Bank of the Lafayette Com­mu­nity Room.

Wed­nes­day, Nov. 14

CHURCH • You are in­vited to join Keith Bap­tist Church for their fall re­vival ser­vices. Jimmy Mc­clure, pas­tor of North Ge­or­gia Bap­tist Church, will be preach­ing and Sac­ri­fice will be singing dur­ing the ser­vices. COM­MU­NITY • The Walker County Repub­li­can Party is host­ing Vet­eran Night. “We are ex­press­ing our ap­pre­ci­a­tion to area vet­er­ans with a spe­cial Vet­er­ans Night. For the third con­sec­u­tive year, mem­bers of the Repub­li­can Party choose to honor our vet­er­ans by treat­ing

each to a de­li­cious free meal, which will be served this year at the Walker County Civic Cen­ter on Thursday, Nov. 15, from 6-8 p.m. ap­prox­i­mately. Also in­vited, at $15 each, are the rel­a­tives and friends of our vet­er­ans. A reser­va­tion must be re­ceived by Nov. 7 for each par­tic­i­pant. This spe­cial din­ner is open to all no mat­ter the po­lit­i­cal af­fil­i­a­tion of the vet­eran. There will be feast­ing, singing, pray­ing, danc­ing by a troupe of col­lege girls, laugh­ter, and story telling. Friend­ship and thank­ful­ness are the watch words.” Two spe­cial speak­ers have agreed to share their thoughts. Brian Hart, a lo­cal hero, who was an en­gi­neer in the Army, and Boyd Lackey, a res­i­dent of a nearby town who was a chap­lain in the Army, will each speak briefly. Both men served 30 years, and each will pre­sent a dif­fer­ent picture of life through his ser­vice. CHURCH • The Women’s Min­istry at First Bap­tist Church, lo­cated at 2645 Lafayette Road, Fort Oglethorpe, will hold a Heavenly Home­made & Ven­dor Fair in the church fel­low­ship hall on Satur­day, Nov. 17, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sale items will in­clude unique home­made crafts, baked goods per­fect for the Thanks­giv­ing hol­i­day and items by lo­cal ven­dors. On Tues­day, Nov. 27, from 4 p.m. to 6:30 p.m., Santa and Mrs. Claus will be avail­able for pic­tures. Bring your cam­era to cap­ture the magical mo­ments. The children will en­joyed cookies, candy canes and co­coa and get their pic­tures made with Santa and Mrs. Claus. Co­coa with Santa costs $5.
