Generals go 4-0 to win Heritage Duals

The Heritage Generals picked up victories over New Hope (63-18), Ashworth (66-24), Lakeview (69-18) and Ringgold (50-35) to win the Heritage Duals on Saturday.

No individual results had been provided as of press time.

Ringgold scored 11 pins and defeated Gordon Lee, 72-15, in a match in Catoosa County last Tuesday.

Gage Keener (86 pounds), Jacob Lambcke (94), Taylor Norris (100), Hudson Moss (108), Nolan Rohrer (115), Brayden Raby (123), Josh Cain (130), Mason Stephens (150), Destin Troutman (165), Brent Lee Raby (180) and Clint Carlock (220) all scored pinfalls, while Sean Goldsmith (72) won by forfeit.

Individual winners for the Trojans included Landon Brown (78) by decision, Timy Duke (140) by pin and Gabe Lowe (285) by pin.

Ringgold went on to a 45-39 win over Dade County this past Thursday behind pins from Norris (100 pounds), Moss (108), Levi Lowery (150) and Beau Boozer (285). Rohrer (115) won by decision, while Keener (86), Dylan Bandy (180) and Brent Lee Raby (220) all won by forfeit.

The Saddle Ridge Mustangs took down another opponent last Tuesday after a 57-30 road win at Lafayette.

Saddle Ridge got pins from Dalton Griffin (72), Jacob Bond (78), Levi Ledford (100), Garrett Dunn (115), Chesley Williams (123), Mali Davis (130), Carson Carpenter (150) and Kaden Trejo (165), while Ethan Thurman (180) won by forfeit. Jacob Hamilton (86) won by decision against Tristian Ash.

For the Ramblers, Braxton Beavers (94) Jonah Neal (108), Logan Stephens (220) and Gavin Reed (285) won by pinfall, while Jacob Brown (140) received a win via forfeit.

In exhibition matches, Jaxon Green, Ethan Gilbert, Nicholas Cigalina, Riley Ledford and Hines all won by pin for Saddle Ridge, while head coach Jacob Harris said Malachi Miller, Wyatt Blevins, Aaron Sullivan, R.J. Harris, Kayle Duncan, Zachary Ellis and Thurman all wrestled very well for the Mustangs.

Saddle Ridge picked up another victory last Wednesday with a 48-34 home win over Rossville, but their winning streak would finally come to a close later in the evening with a narrow 44-39 defeat at the hands of Chattanoog­a Valley.

Against the Bulldogs, Saddle Ridge started out with pins by Griffin (72) and Bond (78) before Hamilton (86) earned a decision against Aiden Barber. The Mustangs would make it 24-0 after Spencer Chadwick’s decision over Bryson Harris at 94 pounds and Ledford’s pin at 100.

Noah Watkins (108) got six points for the Bulldogs with a pin, but the Mustangs would answer with pins by Dunn (115), Gilbert (123) and Davis (130) to increase their lead to 42-6.

Rossville would mount a rally in the heavier weights. Hudson Couch (140) would defeat Carson Carpenter by major decision, while Blake Ferguson (150) and Daylan Conley (165) followed up with pins. Levi Tapley (180) and Ruben Johnson (220) added pins for Rossville, but Saddle Ridge would get the final six as Danny Lugo (285) was awarded a win by forfeit.

Gilbert, Miller, Blevins, Cigalina and Drew Dean all won by pin for the Mustangs in exhibition matches, while Sullivan wrestled well, but lost a tough match according to Harris.

Then against the Eagles, the Mustangs again jumped out to the lead, only to see CVMS rally in the second half of the match.

Griffin (72) won by pin and Miller (78) won by forfeit before back-toback pins by Bond (86) and Hamilton (94). Chadwick added to the lead as he won a decision against James Gowan at 100.

The teams would split the next two bouts as Luke Braman (108) got a pin for the Eagles and Dunn (115) answered with one for the Mustangs. However, Chattanoog­a Valley would storm back with 28 unanswered points. Zach Watson (123) picked up a major decision against Gilbert before Josh Williams (130), Kevin Schmelzer (140), Carson Middleton (150) and Caleb Sain (165) all got pins to put the Eagles in front.

Saddle Ridge would get six more points on a pin by Ethan Thurman (180), but the Eagles would close it out as Gauge Ellis (220) and Beckham Whaley (285) each won by pin.

Miller, Blevins, Gilbert, Thurman and Dean all won exhibition matches for the Mustangs, while Sullivan, Cigalina, Harris, Ellis, Duncan, Jaxon Green and Austin Whittey wrestled well in defeat.
