Another Ringgold player makes college commitment

Ringgold has announced that senior Pete Brower will sign with Morehead State (Ky.). Brower, a 6-foot-3, 200pound receiver/defensive back had 32 catches for 361 yards and two touchdowns this past fall. He also made two intercepti­ons, defended four passes, forced a fumble and recovered a fumble for the Tigers, who advanced to the Class 3A state playoffs.

Mcallister to attend UA Camp

Heritage junior offensive linemen Kobe Mcallister (6-6, 275) has been invited to participat­e in an Under Armour All-american Camp. Under Armour hosts 10 invitation­only camps all over the country from Feb.–april. From these camps, UA will select the players it will invite to the company’s All-american Game.

Friends of NRA banquet Feb. 23

The Northwest Georgia Friends of the NRA will host is second banquet on Feb. 23 at the Walker County Civic Center. Tickets, including dinner, are $35 each or $65 per couple.

Softball/baseball Camp

The Lafayette High School softball and baseball programs will host a one-day camp on Feb. 19 from 10 a.m.-3 pm.

The camp will be open to boys and girls in first through eighth grade at a cost of $50 per camper. Lunch will be provided and campers will receive a t-shirt.

Catchings to speak at FCA banquet

WNBA, NCAA champion, and four-time Olympic gold medalist Tamika Catchings will headline the FCA Home Team Banquet on Tuesday, March 26 at the Catoosa Colonnade in Ringgold. The annual fundraisin­g event supports the Fellowship of Christian Athletes huddles in 30 northwest Georgia schools throughout Catoosa, Chattooga, Dade and Walker counties.

Individual­s and businesses can sponsor $500, $1,000 or $2,000 tables to attend the celebratio­n. The top two sponsorshi­p levels receive passes to attend a private meetand-greet reception with Catchings. FCA is also accepting ads in their souvenir program, as well as items for a silent auction.
