Sports Shorts: Free glow disc golf at Jack Mattox on July 10

The Catoosa County Parks and Recreation Department is offering free glow disc golf on July 10 from 9-10:30 p.m. at the Jack Mattox Disc Golf Course. For more informatio­n, call (706) 891-4199.

Ridgeland youth football and cheer camp

Ridgeland High School is jointly hosting a youth football and cheer camp July 8-10 from 6-8 p.m. nightly. Football players will meet on Bowers and Painter Field, while cheer athletes will meet in the school’s cafeteria.

The cost will be $50 per child, which includes snacks and a camp T-shirt. The camps are grouped by age and will be open to kindergart­en through eighth graders.

Registrati­on forms can be found on the event’s Facebook site “Football and Cheer Kids Camp”.

Rick Honeycutt Warm-up

The Rick Honeycutt World Series Warm-up Classic will be held on July 12 at the Fort Oglethorpe Recreation Complex on Barnhardt Circle. Age groups will include 5U, 6U, 7U, 8U, 9U, 10U, 11Uand 12U. Tee Off for the Tigers

The Tee Off for the Tigers Golf Tournament will be held at Windstone on Tuesday, July 16. Breakfast and registrati­on will be at 7 a.m. followed by a shotgun start at 8.

Warrior 4 Life Golf Tournament

The LFO Quarterbac­k Club will hold the Warrior 4 Life Golf Tournament on July 16 at the Windstone Golf Club. Registrati­on and lunch will start at 12 noon, followed by a shotgun start at 1 p.m.

Entry fees are $100 per player and $400 per four-person team.

Checks should be made payable and mailed to the LFO QB Club, 1850 Battlefiel­d Parkway, Fort Oglethorpe, Ga., 30742.

Lafayette youth tennis camp

Lafayette High School will hold a youth tennis camp on July 18 and 19 from 10 a.m.-12 noon each day for boys and girls in third through eighth grade. The camp will be held at the Lafayette High School tennis courts and will cost $20 per child.

Campers will be grouped according to age and ability. Participan­ts must wear appropriat­e athletic apparel and each camper must bring their own tennis racquet and water bottle. Instructio­n will come from LHS tennis coaches and players and will focus on fundamenta­l skill developmen­t.

Lafayette youth volleyball camp

The Lafayette High School Youth Volleyball Camp will be held on Sunday, July 28 and again on Sunday, Aug. 4 from 1:30-3:30 p.m. each day for students entering first through eighth grade. Fee is $35 and campers will receive a T-shirt and a ticket to a future Lafayette High School match.
