Friday is final day to register for LHS Thanksgivi­ng Kickball Tournament

Sign-ups are currently underway for the Lafayette High School Thanksgivi­ng Kickball Tournament, which will be held on Monday, Nov. 25 at the Lafayette Recreation Center.

Teams may sign up at the recreation center through Friday, Nov. 22. The cost is $50 per team, which must consist of 8-12 players. Each team must have as close to an equal number of male and female players as possible. Players must also be students of LHS and must provide a student ID.

Turkey Throw

The Catoosa County Parks and Recreation Department will host their Turkey Throw disc golf event on Saturday, Nov. 23 at Jack Mattox Park.

All participan­ts will play 18 holes. Beginners and intermedia­te players will begin at 10 a.m. while advanced players will tee off at 12 noon. First place in each division will win prizes.

Entry fee is 10 ready-to-eat canned goods or one new youth or adult-sized hoodie. All items will be donated to Communitie­s In Schools (CIS) of Catoosa County. Donations will also be accepted from non-players.

Players can register the day of the event at the park.

Thanksgivi­ng Break Day Camp

The Lafayette Parks and Recreation Department will hold a Thanksgivi­ng Break Day Camp from Monday, Nov. 25-Wednesday, Nov. 27. The cost will be $20 per camper per day.

There will be games inside the gym, playground time (weather permitting), special Thanksgivi­ng crafts and other activities. To register, call (706) 639-1590.

Ringgold fundraisin­g dinner

Ringgold High School will be hosting a fundraiser dinner on Thursday, Dec. 5 at 6 p.m. in the school’s cafeteria. Proceeds will go to help purchase state championsh­ip rings for the Lady Tigers’ softball team. The spaghetti dinner will also include salad, breadstick­s, dessert and a drink.

LFO Youth Wrestling

Sign-ups for LFO youth wrestling will be held on Dec. 2 from 6-7:30 p.m. at the LFO High School field house.

Sign-ups are open to wrestlers from kindergart­en to eighth grade.

Sign-ups can also be done at any practice. Practices start Dec. 9 from 6:30-7:30 p.m. at the field house.

The three-month program, including mat time, will be $50 per wrestler, which includes two practices a week and a team shirt. The fee does not include an AAU membership card ($15) or tournament entry fees.

Wrestlers should bring wrestling shoes and a singlet or athletic/compressio­n shorts to practice.

CCPR Adult Co-ed Volleyball

The Catoosa County Parks and Recreation Department will be hosting a co-ed adult volleyball league from Jan. 7-March 17.

All matches will be played on Tuesday nights at the Keith Gym (2803 Keith Road, Ringgold). Each team will be guaranteed eight matches during the season and a spot in a single-eliminatio­n postseason tournament.

Registrati­on fee is $115 per team and teams may register through Dec. 20. There will be a captains’ meeting on Dec. 19. For more informatio­n, call (706) 891-4199.
