Former Ringgold Lady Tiger standout hits 1,000-point mark at Reinhardt
Former Ringgold Lady Tiger Bethany Headrick passed the 1,000-point mark for her career at Reinhardt University last Tuesday night during a 64-57 home win over Union (Ky.).
Headrick reached the milestone on back-to-back baskets late in the first half. She finished with 14 points and 10 rebounds to help No. 23 Reinhardt improve to 18-2 overall and 15-2 in Appalachian Athletic Conference play.
The 5-foot-10 guard/forward currently leads the Eagles in minutes (per game) (30.4), rebounds (9.3) and steals (1.7) and is tied for the team lead in blocks (0.3). In addition, she is second in scoring (15.1), third in free throw percentage (78.4) and third in assists (2.0).
Adult league softball
The Catoosa County Parks and Recreation Department is currently holding registrations for Open and Church League adult softball through Mar. 20. The cost is $450 per team.
Games will be played on Mondays and Tuesdays and will start the second week of April. Each team will play an eight-game regular-season with an optional single-elimination playoff tournament at the end.

Be Mine Archery
The Catoosa County Parks and Recreation Department will hold a special couples archery night on Monday, Feb. 10 at the Graysville Gym from 7:30-8:30 p.m. The cost is $10 per couple. There will be lessons, games and prizes, including a winery tour and special gift from the Georgia Winery for one couple. You can reserve a spot online at catoosarec.com.
Chickamauga sports sign-ups
The Chickamauga Recreation Association will be holding spring sports sign-ups in person at the Gordon Lee Middle School Gym on Feb. 8 from 9 a.m.-4 p.m. and on Feb. 15 from 9 a.m.-2 p.m.
Registration fees are $60 for tee ball (3 and 4 years old) and $75 for baseball, softball and soccer.
In-person registration fees must be paid by cash or check only.
LFORA baseball sign-ups
The LFO Recreation Association is currently holding spring baseball sign-ups through Feb. 16. Late signups will end on Feb. 21. Online sign-ups can be done at lforec.org. Sign-ups can also be done in person (211 Second Street, Fort Oglethorpe) on Feb. 8 from 11 a.m.-2 p.m.

Catoosa spring sports sign-ups
Spring sports youth registrations for the Catoosa County Parks and Recreation Department are now open. The CCPR will be offering baseball, softball, soccer, volleyball and 3x3 basketball.
Registration may be done online at teamsideline.com/ Catoosacountyga or may be done in person at the CCPR offices at 749 Pine Grove Road in Ringgold.
In-person registration may be done on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays from 8 a.m.-5 p.m., on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 8 a.m.7 p.m. and on select Saturdays. Those Saturday dates are available on the CCPR website at catoosarec.com. For more information, call (706) 891-4199.
Spring sports officials needed
The Catoosa County Parks and Recreation Department is looking for umpires and referees for baseball, soccer, volleyball and softball for the upcoming spring season. Positions pay between $15-$30 per game.

Hall of Fame induction ceremony
The Greater Chattanooga Sports Hall of Fame will hold its annual induction ceremony on Feb. 24 at 6:30 p.m. at the Chattanooga Convention Center. Six special award winners also will be honored, including the Reggie White and Catherine Neely Athletes of the Year. HMS baseball instructional camp
Heritage Middle School will hold a baseball instructional camp on Saturday, Feb. 29 at the school’s baseball field. The camp is open to all players, grades K through fifth grade. The cost is $25 each, which includes a camp Tshirt. In case of inclement weather, the camp will be held on Mar. 7.

gradurun 5K
Communities In Schools of Catoosa County will hold its 22nd Annual “gradurun” 5K on Mar. 21. The race will begin and end at First Volunteer Bank (5102 Alabama Highway) in Ringgold. Registration will begin at 6:30 a.m. on the day of the race. The 5K run will start at 8 a.m. and a 1-mile fun walk will begin at 8:05.
