Alex Kendrick to speak at FCA Banquet on Feb. 18

The “2020 Vision” Fellowship of Christian Athletes annual Home Team Banquet will be held on Tuesday, Feb. 18 at the LFO High School Gymnasium. There will be a silent auction at 6 p.m., followed by dinner at 6:30 and the rest of the festivitie­s at 7.

The banquet’s keynote speaker will be Alex Kendrick, who along with his brothers, wrote, directed, produced and starred in the Christian films “Overcomer”, “War Room”, “Cou- rageous”, “Fireproof”, “Facing the Giants” and “Flywheel”. Kendrick has also co-authored three New York Times bestseller­s, “The Love Dare”, “The Resolution for Men” and “The Battle Plan for Prayer”.

Sponsorshi­ps are available for $500, $1,000 and $2,000.

LFORA baseball sign-ups

The LFO Recreation Associatio­n is currently holding spring baseball sign-ups through Feb. 16. Late sign-ups will end on Feb. 21.

Online sign-ups can be done at lforec.org. Sign-ups can also be done in person (211 Second Street, Fort Oglethorpe) on Feb. 8 from 11 a.m.-2 p.m.

Fees are $25 for 6U players and $50 for 8U-12U players. There will be an additional $25 fee per player for out of county players.

Catoosa spring sports sign-ups

Spring sports youth registrati­ons for the Catoosa County Parks and Recreation Department are now open. The CCPR will be offering baseball, softball, soccer, volleyball and 3x3 basketball.

Registrati­on may be done online at teamsideli­ne.com/ Catoosacou­ntyga or may be done in person at the CCPR offices at 749 Pine Grove Road in Ringgold.

In-person registrati­on may be done on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays from 8 a.m.5 p.m., on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 8 a.m.-7 p.m. and on select Saturdays. Those Saturday dates are available on the CCPR website at catoosarec. com. For more informatio­n, call (706) 891-4199.

Hall of Fame induction ceremony

The Greater Chattanoog­a

Sports Hall of Fame will hold its annual induction ceremony on Feb. 24 at 6:30 p.m. at the Chattanoog­a Convention Center. Six special award winners also will be honored, including the Reggie White and Catherine Neely Athletes of the Year.

HMS baseball instructio­nal camp

Heritage Middle School will hold a baseball instructio­nal camp on Saturday, Feb. 29 at the school’s baseball field.

The camp is open to all players, grades K through fifth grade. The cost is $25 each, which includes a camp T-shirt. In case of inclement weather, the camp will be held on Mar. 7.

gradurun 5K

Communitie­s In Schools of Catoosa County will hold its 22nd Annual “gradurun” 5K on Mar. 21. The race will begin and end at First Volunteer Bank (5102 Alabama Highway) in Ringgold.

Registrati­on will begin at 6:30 a.m. on the day of the race. The 5K run will start at 8 a.m. and a 1-mile fun walk will begin at 8:05.

The race is course certified and will be worth points in the Chattanoog­a Track Club Runner of the Year standings. Medals and cash will be given to the top winners.

Trojan 5K Run/walk

The annual Chick-fil-a Gordon Lee High School 5K Trojan Run/walk will take place at Gordon Lee High School in Chickamaug­a on May 2.

Packet pick-up and race day registrati­on will be at 6:30 a.m. Race day registrati­on closes at 7:15 and the race will begin at 8.

Awards will be given to the top two male and female overall finishers. Medals will be given to the top two finishers (male and female) in each age group: 14 and under, 15-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-65 and 66 and up. The awards ceremony will take place following the completion of the race at approximat­ely 9:15.

Parking will be available in the high school horseshoe and the elementary school horseshoe. Post-race snacks and drinks will be provided free of charge for the runners.
