Heritage alum Madelyn Thompson earned All-freshman Team honors for the Chattanooga Mocs track team at the recent Southern Conference Indoor Championships in Lexington, Va. on the campus of VMI.

Thompson picked up the award with her 5.00-meter (16-feet, 5-inch) long jump and she also finished the 60-meter hurdles with a new personal best time of 9.37 seconds.

Another freshman, Mckenzie Williamson (Franklin, Tenn.) set personal records in the 60-meter dash (7.87) and the 200 (26.13), improving with each meet this season.

Sophomore Sage Davis (Powell, Tenn.) bested her previous top time in the 60-meter dash with a time of 8.03 and freshman Sydney Cansler (Chattanooga, Tenn.), in just her second collegiate 800-meter, posted her top mark in the race.

Senior Hannah Caldwell (Brentwood, Tenn.), running in her final indoor championships, just missed her PR in the 3000-meter run by less than two seconds at 10:35.75.

Junior Makenzie Jones also set a new personal record in the women’s 5000-meter run (17:20.83) and finished fifth on the final day of the championships. Her time was nearly five seconds faster than her previous PR and a half-minute faster than her previous season-best for the year.

Another Heritage grad, Emily Poole, along with junior Sophia Neglia (Kingsport, Tenn.) finished at the top of their heat, running alone for much of the race. Poole, a senior, placed 13th overall at 18:19.03 and Neglia was right behind at 18:21.40. Freshman Lesley Green (Dayton, Tenn.) earned All-freshman honors in the meet finishing with a time of 18:51.58.
