LFO collects two more 6-AAA wins

The LFO Lady Warriors, ranked No. 10 in Class AAA last week, claimed another Region 6 victory with a 12-3 win at North Murray last Monday.

LFO, who led 7-0 after the first two innings, pounded out 17 hits, including a 4 for 4 performanc­e from Haley Stahl. Stahl had a double and drove in one run.

Carlee Wilson was 2 for 4 with a double, two runs scored and one RBI. Tatyanna Long had two hits, including a double, to go with two RBIS and two runs scored, while Heidi Johnson had two hits with a triple and scored twice.

Kloe Osborn tripled and knocked in a run. Auna Rolfe had one hit and two RBIS. Breonn Newbille had two hits and one RBI, while Britni Newbille, Julie Shore and Lexi Downey each had one hit and one RBI.

Stahl pitched three scoreless innings, striking out four without allowing a hit. Johnson gave up three earned runs on a hit and three walks in one inning of work with one strikeout, while Britni Newbille struck out three batters and allowed three hits in two innings in the circle.

LFO 4, Adairsvill­e 0

The Lady Warriors kept pace in the region standings with a home victory a day later as all four runs came in the bottom of the sixth inning.

LFO layed down four straight bunts with one out and all four hitters reached base, three with singles and one via an error. Stahl and Rolfe collected RBIS in the inning, while a second costly error by the Lady Tigers allowed the other two runs to score.

Rolfe also had a triple as part of a 2 for 3 night and Wilson had the other hit for LFO. Stahl went the distance on a threehit shutout, striking out six and walking two.

Sonoravill­e 3, LFO 1

The Lady Warriors got an early run off Lady Phoenix ace Taylor Long on Wednesday, but were unable to hold the lead as the hosts rallied for a win in the Region 6-AAA contest.

Johnson was hit by a pitch to lead off the game and she moved to second on a sacrifice bunt by Wilson. Two batters later, Rolfe laced a two-out single to right to bring in Johnson with the first run of the game. However, it would
