Lakeview knocks off Rossville with hoops sweep

Two longtime middle school rivals squared off last Tuesday as Rossville came to Lakeview and it would be the home teams winning both contests.

Lakeview girls 45, Rossville 7

Christa Collins had 17 points for the Lady Warriors, followed by Mercedes Thompson with 11. Payton Rolfe had five points. Micha Valdes and Hope Alexander both finished with four points, while Brylee Pritchett and Rebekah Howe dropped in two each.

Lacy Moyer scored four points for the Lady Bulldogs, with Ava Fowler adding two and Addison Watkins chipping in with one.

Lakeview boys 35, Rossville 14

Rashad Rachel had 14 points and Carson Goff added 10 in the nightcap. A.J. Stout and Zyan Eastman added four apiece with Rayshawn Mcgruder capping the scoring with three.

Jamarion Burks had a team-high seven points for the Bulldogs. Franklin Wilson knocked down a long range shot for three, while Dyson Binford and Bryson Donald each added two.

Ringgold girls 49, Lafayette 10

The Lady Tigers stayed unbeaten on the season as they scored 23 points in the opening quarter en route to a home victory last Tuesday.

Kayla Lopez had 21 points for Ringgold, while Allie Massengale and Kinsley Forscutt both added nine. Braylee Raby went for five points. Eryn Epps added three and Emma Stephenson had two.

Ella Webb had four points to pace the Lady Ramblers. Gracie Headrick, Emma Parker and Emma House each finished with two points.

Lafayette boys 33, Ringgold 21

The Ramblers trailed 6-0 after the first quarter, but rallied for an 11-8 lead at halftime before going on to the win.

ley had six. Three from Kole Worley and two by Julian Lees filled out the scoresheet.

Jacob Duarte had seven points for the Tigers. Jake Neal went for five, while Judah Smith and Aidan Hickman each had four. One Bryce Harris point rounded out the scoring.

Heritage girls 44, Trion 38

The Lady Generals used a 14-5 advantage in the second quarter to get some breathing room and hold off the Lady Bulldogs in a game played at Trion last Tuesday.

Bree Wilson scored 10 of Heritage’s points in that second quarter as she finished with 14. Macie Collins led Heritage with 16 points, followed by Addi Dills with six and Reese Abercrombi­e and Ema Tanner with four apiece.

Heritage boys 47, Trion 14

The nightcap had far less drama as the Generals bolted out to a 31-3

lead at intermissi­on before coasting in the second half.

Kaleb Gallman and Caiden Bauldwin each had 12 points in the victory. Cayden Lowrey and Will Riddell scored six apiece and Blake Debity added five. The scoring was rounded out by three each from Jake Parker and Cooper Bell and two from Tristan Simmons.

Chattanoog­a Valley boys 60, Saddle Ridge 32

The Eagles claimed last Tuesday’s win in Flintstone as 10 different players got in the scoring column. Holden Lyons had 11 points to lead the way. Jaishon Mclin added nine and Jamarcus Lewis finished with seven, followed by seven from Kain Brown and six from Isaiah Price.

Eli Massey added five points, while Aiden Russell and Jamie Hinton had four each. Two points apiece by Bryson Duke and Josh Langston rounded out the scoring.

Hayden Bowman led the Mustangs with a game-high 16 points on the strength of five 3-pointers.

The girls’ game was not played.

Silverdale girls 47, Oakwood Christian 12

The Lady Eagles dropped their season debut in Chattanoog­a last Tuesday. Emma Dickson had four points in the loss. Trinity Hall netted three. Laney Tindell and Ryleigh Trivett had two each and Janel Buckles finished with one.

The Eagles were not scheduled to play.

Saddle Ridge girls 32, Christian Heritage 16

Last Monday night saw the Lady Mustangs double up the visitors from Dalton in a non-league game.

Avery Jenkins and Alivia Hughes had 10 points each in the victory, followed by six from Raven Yancy, who earned praise from head coach Daniel Scoggins for her passing on the night. Macee Casteel added four points and Alesia Leaks chipped in with two.

Gordon Lee girls 33, Saddle Ridge 31

The Lady Trojans rallied from down 10 points in the first quarter to pick up a non-league victory in Rock Spring on Thursday afternoon.

E.G. Hixon had 12 points for the Lady Trojans, followed by nine from Charlsie Mcelhaney, five each from Abby Logan and Tenslee Wilson and two from Macartney Angel.

Jenkins paced the Lady Mustangs with 17 points, followed by Yancy with 12 and Hughes with two. Olivia Free had seven rebounds for the home team, while Hughes, Casteel and Ryleigh Ramey helped out on the glass.

Gordon Lee boys 54, Saddle Ridge 12

The nightcap saw the Trojans get out to a big lead early and cruise to the victory behind 20 points and seven rebounds from Sam Sartin. Troy Phillips added 10 points and grabbed six boards, while Dustin Day added eight points.

Layne Parrish had five points and eight rebounds. Sam Phillips and Parker Scott each had four points with Scott collecting four steals. Aiden Goodwin pulled down seven rebounds and completed the scoring with three points.

Individual scoring for Saddle Ridge had not been provided as of press time.

Lakeview girls 33, Lafayette 19

Collins and Thompson each had nine points and Rolfe added seven as the Lady Warriors recorded a home win. Valdes went for five points and Pritchett finished with three.

House led the way for the Lady Ramblers with eight points. Parker and Headrick had four apiece, while Mya Woodard chipped in with three.

Lafayette boys 51, Lakeview 37

In the nightcap, Lees had 15 points and Mckenzie dropped in a dozen to help lift the Ramblers to the road win. Walker added eight points in the victory. Worley finished with seven, followed by Finley with six and Asaiah Morton with three.

Rachel paced the Warriors with nine points, while Mcgruder and Stout each finished with seven. Six by Eastman, three each by Goff and Chandler Harris and two from Darian Keefe rounded out the scoring.

Trion boys 46, Rossville 38

Burks had 12 points for the Bulldogs, who were edged out at home. Donald added 11 points and Hunter Arnold finished with seven.

Results of the girls’ game had not been reported as of press time.

Heritage girls 44, Christian Heritage 22

The Lady Generals improved to 6-1 on the year behind 12 points from Wilson and 11 from Dills. Collins and Faith Alsobrooks each added five points, followed by four from Brook Wilson, three from Bailee Hollis, two from Tanner and one from Kellie Boehm.

There was no boys’ game.
