The Rest of the 2020 Cross Country Dream Team

♦ Mia Callahan, Heritage — The sophomore turned in a season-best time of 22:44 at a meet in Lafayette and finished 11th at the 7-AAAA Championsh­ips, ending the year with an average time of 24:02.

♦ Alexis Faul, Heritage — The junior was a steady performer for the Lady Generals. Her 24:34 at the Run at the Rock meet early in the season was her top time of the year and she averaged 25:46 for the season.

♦ Cora Fehr, Gordon Lee —A ninth-place showing at the Region 6-A Championsh­ips (24:47) was the best time of the year for the sophomore, who ended the season with an average time of 25:36.

♦ Haynie Gilstrap, Lafayette — The sophomore split her time with softball, but had two top 10 finishes, including fifth on her home course with a seasonbest 23:30. She ran a 24:07 at the 6-AAA meet, good for seventh, and 24:40 at state to finish with a 24:06 average.

♦ Haley Hartman, Gordon Lee — The sophomore placed second at the Walker County Championsh­ips, fourth at the region meet with a season-best 23:22, and ran 14th at state with a 24:14 to finish with an average of 24:38 for the year.

♦ Lila Langston, Heritage — The freshman was expected to be a top seven runner for the Navy-and-red and she did just that with a 25:51 average and a season-best time of 24:09 at the region meet, where she placed 14th overall.

♦ Allie Mifflin, Heritage — The sophomore continued to be a consistent runner for the Lady Generals in 2020, clocking in a season-best 24:49 in LaFayette and averaging 26:36 for the year.

♦ Riley Poe, Ringgold — The young, but ever-improving Lady Tigers found their way to Carrollton for the state meet this fall, thanks in part to the sophomore’s team-best 26:04 average. She had a season-best 24:41 in Lafayette and was 12th at the 6-AAA meet.

♦ Dakota Tabor, Lafayette — The sophomore newcomer had an immediate impact with three top 12 finishes and a 26:07 average to help send her team to state. She ran a season-best 23:59 on her home course, was third at the county meet and ran 12th at the region meet.

♦ Madi Terry, Heritage — A 24:22 at the Lafayette High meet was the best of the year for the sophomore, who went on to finish the year with an average time of 26:00 even.

♦ Collin Black, Heritage — The sophomore had a solid season for the state-participan­t Generals, averaging 20:17 for the year with a season-best 18:58 coming in a sixth-place finish at Lafayette.

♦ Cecil Bussey, Heritage — The best finish for the junior came at Lafayette when he crossed the line in 19:03 to place seventh. He went on to post an average time of 19:43 for the year.

♦ Kale Davis, Ringgold — The sophomore enjoyed a breakout season for the Tigers with an average of 19:28 and sub-19-minute showings at Lafayette (18:48) and at the 6-AAA meet (18:46), the latter being his season-best.

♦ Davis Justice, Heritage — The junior was second on the Heritage roster with a season average of 19:30, which featured a season-best 18:39 ( 12th place overall) at the 7- AAAA Championsh­ips.

♦ Jake Krajesky, Heritage — The senior continued to speed up as the season went along, posting a season-best 19:05 at Lafayette and ending his career with a 20:04 average in his final year.

♦ Jake Lee, Gordon Lee — The senior wrapped up a stellar prep career with a season average of 19:03, including a 12th place finish at state (19:28) and a second-place finish at the Walker County Championsh­ips, where he turned in a season-best 17:55.

♦ Brandon Morris, Ringgold — The senior saved his best for last and helped lead the Tigers to state with a season-best 19:22 at Lafayette and a 14th place finish (19:46) at the region meet to go with an average of 19:56.

♦ Josh Perea, Lafayette — The senior has been a consistent performer for the Ramblers for four seasons and ended his prep career by averaging 20:20 this past fall with a seasonbest 19:13 (third place) at the county meet in Lafayette.

♦ Ty Williams, Ringgold — The junior clocked a season-best 19:50 at the Fast Break Challenge and posted a season average of 20:17 for the Blueand-white.

♦ Josh Wingard, Ridgeland — The Panther sophomore stepped up this year with a 20:16 overall average and two sub-20-minute meets, including a season-best 19:37 at the Region 7-AAAA Championsh­ips in Jasper.
