The Blue-and-white pulled off a sweep of Coahulla Creek last week before taking the first game of a two-game series against Rockmart and entered this week riding a 10-game winning streak.

Last week started with the Tigers getting six strong innings from Kenyon Ransom in a road victory last Tuesday.

Ransom gave another stellar performance on the mound as he scattered three hits, struck out 11 and walked just one batter. Mason Parker pitched the seventh in relief, striking out one.

The game was scoreless going into the top of the fifth when Ringgold broke through with a pair of runs. Chase Ghormley jumpstarted the inning with a two-out double. Then, following a walk and an error, McCain Mangum delivered a single to score Ghormley and Dawsyn Ware.

Ringgold added four insurance runs in the top of the seventh, opening the inning with four straight hits. Parker had an Rbi-single and Mangum had an RBIdouble, while Colin Mountjoy and Austin Mcmahan picked up RBIS on back-toback groundouts.

Parker and Sam Mills matched Mangum with two hits.

On Thursday at Bill Womack Field, the Tigers spotted the Colts a 2-0 lead after the top half of the first inning, but responded by scoring in each of their five times at the plate in a run-rule win.

Ringgold led 7-2 after four innings, but would end the game early after putting up five final runs in the bottom of the fifth. The Tigers had three consecutive singles, followed by four consecutive walks, before Eli Norris’ groundout brought in the game-winner.

Norris, along with Ransom and Parker, each had two RBIS in the victory, while Parker had two hits and was the only Tiger with a multi-hit game. Mangum, Mcmahan, Ross Norman and Dre Morris each had one RBI in the victory.

Mountjoy pitched three innings, allowing two earned runs on three hits and three walks with six strikeouts. Robbie

Bates gave up just one hit and struck out one batter in two innings of work.

Ringgold 4, Rockmart 0

The Blue-and-white ended the week by traveling to Polk County and moved to 8-0 in region play with another shutout victory.

Ghormley had another very impressive outing on the mound as he gave up just four hits and struck out six batters in seven innings without allowing a walk.

Three doubles, including back-to-back two-base hits by Mangum and Mountjoy,

got the first inning started and Ransom would continue his torrid pace at the plate with an Rbi-double after Mcmahan drew a walk to bring in the Tigers’ second run of the inning.

Two more back-to-back doubles by Norris and Norman got the second inning going as Ringgold pushed home a third run. Ransom scored the final run for the Tigers an inning later. He drew a one-out walk and stole second and third before scoring on a sacrifice fly off the bat of Morris.

Norris finished 3 for 4 on the night, while Parker picked up a single for Ringgold (14-5, 8-0), who was slated to host Rockmart on Tuesday of this week at 5:55 p.m. The Tigers also entered the week in sole possession of first place in the 6-AAA standings.
