Saddle Ridge doubles up Dade

The Saddle Ridge Lady Mustangs got goals from Lexi Underwood and Cadha Lanier in a hard-fought 2-1 home win over Dade on Thursday.

Alexa Cannon and Della Harris both had assists for Saddle Ridge, who outshot the Lady Wolverines, 8-1. Dade’s lone goal came on a penalty kick.

Ella Ferry and Alyssa Ball were named as standouts on defense, while Maddie Underwood, Parker Lawrence and Presley Walker were praised for their efforts in the midfield.

SADDLE RIDGE BOYS 4, DADE 2

In the nightcap, Elijah Decker, Harrison Gilstrap and George Sholtz each had one goal and one assist in the Mustangs’ victory. Andrew Martin also found the back of the net and Bently Wilson picked up an assist.

Brady Wilson and Traye Stahl were standouts on defense for the Navy-and-red.

HERITAGE GIRLS 4, RINGGOLD 4

The Heritage Lady Generals trailed 4-1 in the second half, but rallied to salvage a tie with Ringgold in their opening match of the season Thursday afternoon at Ringgold.

Zoe Parham had two goals and an assist for Heritage (0-0-1), while Aireanna Williams also found the net twice. Ellie Kennedy made two saves for the Lady Generals.

Graclie Thorton scored the first goal for the Lady Tigers (1-0-1) off an assist from Aaliyah Haireis. Haireis also assisted on the second goal by Olivia Giambrone before she found the net herself. Thorton later picked up her second tally to cap the scoring.

RINGGOLD BOYS 2, HERITAGE 1

The first match of the day saw the Tigers (2-0) hold off their neighbors for the victory.

Chandler Craig scored the first goal, while Zach Allen scored the second goal shortly after the restart.

Cruz Jackson had the lone goal for Heritage (0-1).
