Ridgeland Hall of Fame banquet to be held this Saturday at 6 p.m.

The Ridgeland High School Athletic Hall of Fame will host their third annual Hall of Fame induction ceremony and banquet this Saturday, May 14, at 6 p.m. at Ridgeland High School. The annual Vonn Bell Awards for current Ridgeland athletes will also be presented that night.

Individual tickets will be $30, or whole tables of eight can be purchased for $275. To purchase tickets to the banquet, call the front office at (706) 820-3109. For other questions, contact Lindsay Tahler at lindsaytah­ler@walkerscho­ols.org.

WEEKLY SENIOR GOLF TOURNAMENT

The Lafayette Golf Course is hosting weekly senior tournament­s on Mondays to all players over the age of 50 years of age.

Players ages 50-59 will play from the white tees, 60-69 will play from the gold tees and those 7- and over will play from the red tees.

The first and third Monday of each month is a two-person scramble, while four-person scrambles will be held on the second and fourth Monday of each month.

The cost is $37 per player for each tournament, which covers a round of golf, food, and a tournament entry. For more informatio­n, call the clubhouse at (706) 639-1580.

COUPLES GOLF TOURNAMENT

The Lafayette Golf Course will also be holding a couples golf tournament this Sunday, May 15. The cost is $80 per team and the tournament will begin with a shotgun start at 1:30 p.m.

It will be a two-person select-shot event with a minimum of two flights.

RIDGELAND SOFTBALL TRYOUTS

Tryouts for anyone interested in playing for the Ridgeland High School softball team, will begin on Monday, May 16 and run through May 19 at 4 p.m. at the high school field.

The team will have 9 a.m. workouts on June 7, 14 and 21 before going to four-day workout weeks starting July 11. The official start of the season is August 1 and daily attendance is mandatory.

Every player must have a current physical before they can participat­e in any tryout or workout.

LAFAYETTE YOUTH FOOTBALL CAMP

The Lafayette Rambler youth football camp will be held June 1315 at Lafayette High School from 6-7:30 p.m. each night.

The camp is open to all rising third through eighth graders. The cost is $20, which includes a camp t-shirt.
