The Oakwood Christian Eagles continued to rack up the hits this past weekend as they collected 32 in a two-game stretch. However, they could only manage just one win as they saw a four-game winning streak snapped.

The Eagles erupted for 19 hits in a home win over Friday.

OCA opened the bottom of the first inning with a walk before five straight hits, including a two-run double by Trey Tindell. Tindell picked up another double in the bottom of the second, while Tanner Davis and Nick Yearout both had Rbi-singles.

Cason Baggett came through with an Rbi-single in the bottom of the third ahead of Tindell’s second run-scoring double of the game. Baggett picked up another RBI on a groundout in the bottom of the sixth and Ryan Phillips scored on a passed ball to account for Oakwood’s final run of the game.

The top six hitters in the Eagles’ lineup, Jayden Patterson, Baggett, Ryan Davis, Tindell, Tanner Davis and Yearout, combine to go 17 of 24 on the night with four walks, eight runs scored and nine runs driven in.

Baggett had four hits. Tindell had three hits, all doubles, while Yearout and Tanner Davis had two hits apiece.

Tindell pitched the first four innings and allowed seven hits and six walks with six strikeouts. Ryan Davis and Tanner Davis combined to give up one earned run on two hits with two walks and three strikeouts in three innings of relief.

Unfortunately for the Navy-and-gold, their winning streak came to a halt back in Chickamauga on Saturday, despite outhitting the Warriors from Dayton, 13-7.

Patterson was 3 for 5 with two RBI’S and one run scored. Ryan Davis went 3 for 3 with three runs scored. Tanner Davis and Tindell had two hits apiece with Tindell picking up an RBI. Additional RBI’S were collected by Yearout and Kaden Jackson.

Both of the Davises, along with Graham Meyer, combined to allow seven hits in seven innings of work on the mound. They teamed up for 12 strikeouts, but also allowed 13 walks.

The Eagles (7-3) are scheduled to conclude the regular season this Saturday with

a doubleheader at Howard High School in Chattanooga. Oakwood will play Berean Academy at 11 a.m. before taking on Hustlin’ Tigers in their second game of the day.
