Heritage Basketball Academy to continue through May

Heritage High School is currently hosting a Basketball Academy. Remaining dates include April 17 and 24, and May 1, 8, 15 and 22.

Third through fifth graders will practice from 6-7 p.m., while sixth through eighth graders will practice from 7-8 p.m. Each clinic will be held at Heritage High School and taught by girls’ head coach Greg Elkins and boys’ head coach Chris Hight, along with their assistants.

Heritage will also be hosting a series of other youth camps from early May through late June.

A volleyball camp will be held May 6-7 from 6:15-8 p.m. each night at a cost of $40 per player. A softball camp will be held May 28-30 and a soccer camp will be held May 29-31. In addition, a sideline spirit camp for dance and cheer will take place May 2931 from 9 a.m.-1 p.m. at a cost of $65 per camper.

An Artkids camp will be held June 3-7 (9 a.m.-2 p.m.) at a cost of $185 per camper. Baseball will hold a camp on June 3-6, as will wrestling (10 a.m.-12 noon). The wrestling camp fee is $50 and the Little Generals Football Camp will be June 24-26 (9 a.m.-12 noon) at $75 per camper.

TROJAN RUN

The annual Chick-fil-a 5K Trojan Run and 1-mile Walk will be held Saturday, Apr. 27 in Chickamaug­a. Registrati­on will start at 7 a.m. with the race beginning at 9.

Entry fee for runners is $25 (pre-registrati­on) or $30 on race day, while it will be $20 for walkers (pre-registrati­on) or $25 on race day. Registrati­on can be done online at https://endurancec­ui.active.com/event-reg/ select-race?e=88328411. All proceeds will go to benefit the running programs at Gordon Lee High School.

CVMS BASKETBALL GOLF TOURNAMENT

The second annual Chattanoog­a Valley Middle School golf tournament will be held on Saturday, April 27 at Nob North Golf Club.

Registrati­on fee will be $100 per player and tee times start at 1 p.m. Prizes will be awarded. Deadline for entry is Apr. 1.

RIDGELAND HALL OF FAME BANQUET

The Ridgeland High School Athletic Hall of Fame will host their fifth annual Vonn Bell Awards and Ridgeland Hall of Fame induction ceremony and banquet on Saturday, May 18. The event will take place at 6 p.m. at Ridgeland High School.

The banquet and ceremony will include dinner, induction of the fifth class of the Ridgeland Athletic Hall of Fame and presentati­on of the Vonn Bell Awards.

Tickets and tables will be sold to the public beginning this Friday, April 12. Individual tickets will be $35, or tables of eight can be purchased for $275.

GORDON LEE VOLLEYBALL CAMP

Gordon Lee will host its Little Trojan volleyball camp May 13-14 from 3:30-5:30 p.m. each day. The camp is open to both girls and boys that are upcoming first-eighth graders. The fee is $70 per camper.

GORDON LEE BASEBALL CAMP

The Gordon Lee Trojan baseball camp will be held June 3-5 at the Gordon Lee baseball complex from 8 a.m.-12 noon each day. The cost is $100 per camper.

CHICKEN DINNER GOLF TOURNAMENT

The 88th Annual Chicken Dinner Golf Tournament will be held at the Lafayette Golf Course June 8-9. Entry fee for golf course members is $125, while the entry fee for non-members is $150.

The fee will cover carts for 18hole rounds each day, range balls and the annual chicken dinner, which will be served Saturday only from 11 a.m.-4 p.m.

All golfers will receive a gift at the start of their round on Saturday and prizes will be awarded for every par 3 hole-in-one on Saturday only.

GORDON LEE SOFTBALL/ GIRLS BASKETBALL CAMP

Gordon Lee’s softball and girls’ basketball camps will be held simultaneo­usly on June 11-13 (9 a.m.-4 p.m.). The cost is $100 for each camp or $150 for campers who attend both. The camps are for girls ages kindergart­en through fifth grade.

RIDGELAND WRESTLING CAMP

Ridgeland High School will host the 3:23 Training and Developmen­t wrestling camp on Thursday, June 13 from 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. in the school’s auxiliary gym.

The camp is for athletes in grades 6-12 with a camp fee of $20 per athlete at the door. College level techniques will be taught during the camp.

LAFAYETTE VOLLEYBALL CAMP

Lafayette High School will host its 2024 youth volleyball camp June 17-18 from 5-7 p.m. each night.

The camp is for upcoming first through eighth graders. The fee is $40 per player and sibling discounts are available.

Players who register by June 7 will be guaranteed a camp t-shirt in the proper size.
