Scioto slips past Jerome in OT

Dimetri Brandon’s basket with 1.9 seconds remaining in overtime gave Dublin Scioto (14-8, 7-5) a 71-69 win over host Dublin Jerome (17-5, 9-3) in the Ohio Capital Conference Cardinal Division on Friday night. Jackie Winchester and Brandon Vertolli each scored 16 for Jerome. Winchester forced overtime with a three-pointer in the final minute of regulation, and Vertolli had four points in OT, including a steal and layup to give Scioto a 68-62 lead. Jerome’s Lucas House (18 points) capped a 7-1 run with a layup to tie it at 69, and Zach Watson led all scorers with 27 points.

Jeremiah Francis ( 19 points), Sterling Manley ( 18) and Jalen Horton ( 17) led Pickeringt­on Central ( 20- 2, 10- 0) to an OCC Ohio win over visiting Gahanna ( 13- 9, 3- 7).

Evan Conley scored 18 points, and Fairfi eld Union ( 20- 2, 14- 0) clinched the Mid- State League Buckeye Division title by beating visiting Bloom- Carroll ( 16- 6, 12- 2).

Nick Muszynski posted a doubledoub­le with 24 points and 13 rebounds to lead host St. Charles ( 18- 2, 7- 0) over Hartley ( 16- 6, 4- 4) in a Central Catholic League game. Kyle Matoszkia had 22 points and 19 rebounds, and Johnstown ( 17- 4, 12- 1) clinched the Licking County League title with a win over visiting Northridge ( 14- 8, 6- 7).

Gahanna Christian ( 13- 9, 10- 2) clinched the Mid- Ohio Christian Athletic League for the second consecutiv­e season with a win over visiting Delaware Christian ( 12- 9, 8- 3).

Justin ShipmanCur­tis had 28 points, and Khalil Clark hit a three-pointer with a minute remaining to lift East (11-11) to a nonleague win over West (4-17).
