Martinez, Atlanta roll over Chicago

Josef Martínez scored twice in the second half, pushing his leagueleading total to five, and expansion Atlanta United won its second straight, defeating the Chicago Fire 4-0 on Saturday.

Chicago (1-1-1) dug an early hole, conceding an own goal in the fourth minute and then having Johan Kappelhof sent off with a red card in the 11th minute.

The own goal Julian Gressel’s cross from just out of the box on the right deflected off Brandon Vincent and went past keeper Jorge Bava was enough for Alec Kann to post the first shutout in Atlanta (2-1-0) history.

FC DALLAS 2, REVOLUTION 1: Maximiliano Urruti scored twice in the second half, and FC Dallas rallied from a 1-0 halftime deficit to earn a win over New England, its fifth straight over the Revolution.

SPORTING KC 2, EARTHQUAKES 1: Sporting Kansas City picked an own goal in the 89th minute that proved to be the difference in a win over the San Jose Earthquakes.

MINNESOTA UNITED 2, RAPIDS 2: Minnesota United’s Christian Ramirez scored in the 58th minute to give the Loons their first ever lead as a franchise, but Marlon Hairston answered for Colorado one minute later to force a draw.
