Fresh and light meals abound at Bamboo Thai Kitchen. The fresh roll features shrimp, basil, bean sprouts, lettuce and carrots served with peanutand-hoisin dipping sauce. Ledford said it’s a perfect match with a cup of tom yum soup, a hot-and-sour option flavored with galangal, lemongrass, kaffir lime leaf, lime juice, tamarind, mushrooms, onions and tomatoes.

Vegetarians have options such as the som tum salad ($9), which offers a range of textures and sweetand-tart flavors: firm, shredded green papaya, shredded carrots, crunchy green beans, peanuts, fish sauce, lime juice, tamarind and a touch of sugar.

How often do you eat out?

I usually eat out with friends at least twice a week.

What are your go-to restaurants?

I definitely go to the restaurants in Grandview (Heights) the most. ... For cheaper fast stuff, I love going to Big Mamma’s Burritos (1359 Grandview Ave., also at 2375 N. High St.). They have more homey-feeling burritos. I almost always get their chipotle-ranch burrito. It’s their own sauce, and then it’s just rice and whatever meat you want, (plus) tomato (and) lettuce.

How about a hidden gem?

I would say Yat’s (Cajun Creole Restaurant, 1366 Grandview Ave.) would be one not a lot of people know about. It’s Creole food. Grandview Heights

They’re super fast and they’re super good, and I feel like no one’s ever in there.

Which ethnic restaurant tops your list?

Definitely Mazah (Mediterranean Eatery, 1453 Granvdiew Ave). It’s easily one of the best Greek food (restaurants) in Columbus that’s a sit-down restaurant. Their food’s not overpriced, and you get a lot.

Where would you take friends from out of town?

North Market’s (59 Spruce St.) always fun because you get to pick whatever you want, but I think a lot of the stuff is kind of expensive.

You’re on an ultimate Frisbee team. Where do you go with them?

Champps (Kitchen & Bar, 1827 Olentangy River Road). We go there pretty much every week because they’re open late and serve food so late. We have a waitress who knows us. We sit at the same table every week. We go to Local Cantina (multiple central Ohio locations) and Condado (Tacos, 1227 N. High St. and 132 S. High St.). I usually switch it up because they have so many different combinations you can make. Both of them have super-good margaritas.
