Baseball gets road win at Michigan State

Dominic Canzone went 4 for 6 with three RBI and Ohio State had 21 hits in a 13-8 victory over Michigan State in a Big Ten baseball game on Sunday in East Lansing, Michigan.

Tre Gantt went 3 for 6 with three runs scored and Jalen Washington had a home run and two RBI for the Buckeyes (15-21, 4-8).

Reece Calvert (2-0) pitched 5 innings, allowing four earned runs.

Dan Durkin hit two homers and drove in five runs for Michigan State (2012, 5-4).

Men’s tennis

The No. 2-ranked Buckeyes (24-3, 9-0) clinched a share of their 12th consecutiv­e Big Ten title with a 6-1 win over Wisconsin (14-5, 5-3) at the Varsity Tennis Center.

Mikael Torpegaard, JJ Wolf, Hugo Di Feo, Herkko Pollanen and Martin Joyce each had singles victories for the Buckeyes, who can wrap up the outright title with wins at Northweste­rn on Friday and against Illinois on Sunday.

Women’s tennis

No. 4-ranked Ohio State (23-2, 9-0 Big Ten) won its ninth straight match and sixth straight shutout with a 7-0 win over host Northweste­rn (12-9, 8-1).

No. 1-ranked Francesca Di Lorenzo defeated Erin Larner 6-1, 6-2 and teamed with Miho Kowase for a 6-3 doubles victory over Alex Chatt and Maddie Lipp.

Women’s golf

Jaclyn Lee and Rio Watanabe each tied for fifth place at 6-over-par 222 and Ohio State finished tied for third with Kent State in the Lady Buckeye Spring Invitation­al at the OSU Scarlet Course.

Ohio State finished at 902, 13 strokes behind firstplace Michigan State, which edged Texas by one stroke. Sophia Schubert of Texas was the individual champion with a 3-under 213.
