Kasich gets prime-time slot to tout new book

Ohio Gov. John Kasich is receiving some prime time to promote his new book.
CNN announced Tuesday that Anderson Cooper will moderate a town hall with the failed- presidentialcandidateturned- author before a live audience at 10 p.m. Monday in New York City.
The event “will focus on President Donald Trump’s first 100 days in office, Kasich’s reflections on the 2016 campaign and his new book, ‘Two Paths: America Divided or United,’” CNN said.
Kasich, who was the last man standing in the bid to wrest the Republican presidential nomination from Trump, refused to endorse the eventual winner in denouncing his divisiveness.
Along with recounting his political career from state senator to the U. S. House to the governor’s office, Kasich is using the book to promote a vision of a more- unified America.
“We’ve got to recognize that the very real problems facing this country cannot be ignored. We cannot be confused or distracted by bitterness and rancor. We cannot allow exclusion to take the place of inclusion. We cannot accept distorted truths and half- baked notions simply because they make us feel good — or, because they make us forget for a moment how we really feel,” an excerpt reads.
“We must hold fast to

our principles as a society, because without them we’re lost. The way forward is to focus on our shared moral compass — the one that points us to honesty, integrity, personal responsibility, faith, humility, compassion, forgiveness, tolerance — that will get us back on track.”
Kasich also is scheduled to discuss his book before the Columbus Metropolitan Club at noon on May 16 at the Boat House at Confluence Park. Tickets are $ 45.
