The 5K run will start at Front and Elm streets at 8:45 a.m. Saturday, followed by the 5K Walk and Family Fun Walk.

Anyone interested in participat­ing can register at Easton Town Center community room, across from Abuelo’s Restaurant, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. today. On race day, people can register at the Vern Riffe Center, 77 S. High St., from 6 to 8:30 a.m.

Online registrati­on remains open until 2 p.m. today at komencolum­bus.org.

Stasi Trout, 49 of Hilliard, is a six-year breast cancer survivor and her race team, Stasi’s Supporters, has raised more than $8,000 this year.

When Trout learned that she had breast cancer, her family already knew the effects all too well. Her mom was a breast cancer survivor; her mother-in-law died from it.

“It’s important to help other women and to find a cure so that my niece, my daughter, my grandchild­ren don’t have to have a world with breast cancer,” Trout said.

More than 28,000 people registered to participat­e in last year’s race.
